On February 14, the Florida Department of Health reported 66,165 COVID-19 tests were conducted. Out of those, 6,190 came back positive. Of the positive test results, 3,787 were that of Floridians, finding out they had tested positive for the first time.
Testing data for February 14 shows the lowest COVID-19 cases in Florida have reported this year, as well as the fewest tests administered. Just ten days ago, 223,000 Floridians requested a COVID-19 test, more than nearly four-times the amount given yesterday.
While testing and cases rose, the positivity rate rose to 9.36-percent, a steady increase compared to the numbers reported last week. Data shows of the total positivity rate, 6.83-percent of Floridians tested on February 11 were finding out for the first time they had tested positive for COVID-19.
In Tamarac, there have been 4,905 total positive COVID-19 cases with an increase of 70 positive cases since February 12.
Statewide in Florida, there have been 1,830,988 positive COVID-19 cases to date. The average age to contract COVID-19 in Broward County on February 11 was 41-years-old. For months, the average Floridian to test positive for COVID-19 has hovered between 39 and 42-years-old.
Since the pandemic began, 76,219 Floridians have been hospitalized due to complications of COVID-19, and 28,934 have passed away. Of the total deaths in Florida, 2,266 have occurred in Broward County.
