Data released by the Florida Department of Health on February 21 show 4,802,872 – or 13.08 percent of Floridians have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccination.
Broward County has administered a total of 362,599 doses of the vaccine, and 13,979 people are now totally vaccinated. Overall, 6.74-percent of Floridians have been fully vaccinated.
In COVID-19 cases, 77,226 COVID-19 tests were conducted on February 21. Out of those, 6,922 came back positive. Of the positive test results, 4,113 were that of Floridians, finding out they had tested positive for the first time.
While testing and cases rose, the positivity rate rose to 9.58-percent, a steady increase compared to the numbers reported last week. Data shows of the total positivity rate, 6.82-percent of Floridians tested on February 21 found out for the first time they had tested positive for COVID-19.
Tamarac has reported a total of 5,015 total positive COVID-19 cases — an increase of 20 positive cases since February 19.
Statewide in Florida, there have been 1,872,923 positive COVID-19 cases to date. The average age to contract COVID-19 in Broward County on February 18 was 39-years-old. For months, the average Floridian to test positive for COVID-19 has hovered between 39 and 42-years-old.
Since the pandemic began, 77,907 Floridians have been hospitalized due to complications of COVID-19, and 30,065 have died. Of the total deaths, 2,310 were from Broward County, with an increase of 27 new deaths since February 16.
