Every other day we’re providing the latest update on positive COVID-19 testing and vaccine data.
On March 21, the Florida Department of Health reports there were 52,893 COVID-19 tests. Out of those, 4,817 came back positive, and 2,979 were first-time positives.
Tamarac isn’t out of the woods yet. There were 5,528 total positive COVID-19 cases which is an increase of 35 positive cases since March 19. Statewide, there are 2,011,211 positive cases to date.
Since the pandemic began, 83,509 Floridians have been hospitalized due to complications of COVID-19, and 32,779 have died. Of those, 2,597 were residents of Broward County.
Vaccinations
As of March 21, 7,475,170 or 23.85 percent of Floridians have received at least one vaccination dose. Out of these, 13.17-percent are now fully vaccinated.
Broward County has a population of 1.9 million residents as of 2019, and as of March 21, 651,758 doses of the vaccine have been administered, with 232,344 people now fully vaccinated.
