Through our joint effort with the Broward Sheriff’s Office to share updates with residents, this is a summary of Tamarac crime and arrests through Sept. 26, 2022.
Battery
Weldon Cir.
A report of a battery was made on 09/25/2022. Family members got together today for a shiva at a condo after a funeral service in North Lauderdale. Some family members began to argue and, at one point, started to become physical. No injuries.
Burglary Conveyance
Buttonwood Ct.
A person was the victim of Burglary Conveyance on 09/21/2022. The victim said an unknown suspect unlawfully broke into his white BMW 428I and removed items. He said he was getting ready to leave when he saw the unknown male suspect leaving the front of his house on a bicycle. He said he immediately noticed the passenger window was shattered, so he tried to apprehend the suspect. He said the suspect headed west toward the golf course, where he lost sight of him. The total amount taken is $3,020 dollars.
Burglary Residence

On 09/25/2022, the complainant alleged a man she knew kicked in her door to retrieve his belongings while she was at work.

A person reported being the victim of Burglary Conveyance on 09/21/2022. The victim said an unknown suspect unlawfully entered his 2019 Black Ford Fusion and removed a black Springfield Armory Luger Hellcat 9mm firearm worth $700 from the glove box. He said he just noticed the firearm was missing out of his vehicle since his wife usually keeps it in the car. Tot. Est. Loss: $700.
Fraud
Banyan Ct.
A person was the victim of Fraud – All Other on 09/23/2022. The victim advised that an unknown person(s) defrauded her by instructing her to transfer approximately $40,000 from her bank accounts. Tot. Est. Loss: $40,000.
Robbery
NW 31st Ave.
On 09/25/2022, a robbery and auto theft occurred in a parking lot. Items robbed were documented, and receipts were submitted into evidence. The victim’s vehicle was put into FCIC/NCIC as stolen, and an auto theft affidavit was signed and submitted into evidence.
Threat Assessment Report
N. University Dr.
A Threat Assessment Report was conducted on 09/20/2022. A child in the 1st grade made a threat, and a behavioral threat assessment was conducted. It was deemed a transient threat after a thorough investigation was done.
Arrests
Sierra Chavez, Harold was arrested on charges of Warrant-Vop Robbery at 7600 N University Dr on 09/22/2022.
Harris, Emily Jackie, 28, was arrested on charges of Viol Inj – Phone, Contact, Communicate on N Pine Island Rd on 09/22/2022.
Looknanan, Shawn Supersad, 32, was arrested on charges of Agg Battery Offender Commits Aggrav Batt on Buttonwood Ct on 09/22/2022.
Fayfer, Mayya, 57, was arrested on charges of Warrant-writ Of Bodily Attachment on NW 61st Ave on 09/24/2022.
