This is a summary of Tamarac crime events through March 18, 2024, compiled through our joint effort with the Broward Sheriff’s Office to share updates with the residents.
Burglary
A victim of Burglary Conveyance was reported on 03/14/2024. The total estimated loss was $1,750. The victim said an unknown suspect unlawfully entered his vehicle and removed miscellaneous A/C tools from inside the car. The suspect entered the vehicle through an unlocked door.
A victim of Burglary Conveyance was reported on 03/13/2024. The total estimated loss was $965.
A victim of Burglary Conveyance was reported on 03/12/2024. The total estimated loss was $655. The unknown suspect(s) removed the victim’s purse from the vehicle.
Theft
The City Of Tamarac was a victim of Theft—All Other—reported on 03/15/2024. The total estimated loss was $12,000. An unknown suspect unlawfully took 1600 feet of copper wire from light poles.
The City Of Tamarac was a victim of Theft—All Other on N University Drive, which was reported on 03/12/2024. The total estimated loss was $2,500. An unknown person cut and removed approximately 450 feet of copper wire from 3 light poles.
A victim of Theft – All Other was reported on 03/15/2024. The total estimated loss was $3,560. An unknown subject stole the victim’s laptop bag containing his laptop from a Hampton Inn bench.
A victim of Theft – All Other was reported on 03/14/2024. The total estimated loss was $1,600. Money was stolen from a room.
A victim of Theft – All Other was reported on 03/18/2024. The total estimated loss was $800. A firearm was stolen.
A victim of Auto Theft was reported on 03/12/2024. The victim reported his vehicle stolen by an unknown person.
A victim of Theft—motor Vehicle Parts—was reported on 03/12/2024. The complainant advised that her tag was stolen from her motorcycle.
A victim of Auto Theft was reported on 03/13/2024. The victim reported his vehicle stolen by an unknown person.
Threat
A Threat Assessment Report was reported on 03/13/2024. A student made a threat to go to another student’s house and shoot the person who answered the door.
A Threat Assessment Report was reported on 03/18/2024. A student was found in possession of a Taser.
Information
Information was reported on 03/14/2024. A concerned mother called in that a man watches kids wait at the bus stop and takes pictures of them.
Homicide
A victim of Homicide was reported on 03/16/2024. Deputies arrived on the scene and discovered a deceased adult female inside the bedroom. Deputies cleared the remainder of the residence for any other outstanding victims and suspects, but they were met with negative results.
Arrests
Taylor, Elijah Victor, 21, was arrested on a Vehicle Theft-Grand Theft Of Motor Vehicle charge on 03/13/2024.
Baker, Darrel Roger, 33, was arrested on a charge of Commit Domestic Battery By Strangulation on 03/14/2024.
Hendricks, Paul Tawane, 23, was arrested on a charge of Commit Domestic Battery By Strangulation on 03/15/2024.
