Tamarac Crime Update: Drug Buy Ends in Aggravated Assault

Through our joint effort with the Broward Sheriff’s Office to share updates with residents, this is a summary of Tamarac crime and arrests through April 25, 2022.

Aggravated Assault 

Rock Island Rd.

On 04/19/2022, a victim advised that after he backed out of a drug purchase for marijuana, the supplier (suspect) became upset and hit him with an unknown weapon. The victim also advised he heard two gunshots.

3800 W. Commercial Blvd.

On 04/23/2022, a male victim went out with friends to a bar in the city of Hollywood and met up with two male acquaintances he invited. After drinking all night, they returned to the La Quinta Inn hotel, and the two males met them there. After arguing about a money payment for their time, the two males left. However, the two males returned 45 minutes later, and one was armed with a black handgun and pushed their way into the hotel room. The male calmed the two males down, the handgun was put away, and they left without further incident.

Animal Bite 

NW 73rd St.

A person was the victim of Animal Bite on 04/21/2022. A Pit-mixed breed dog escaped and attacked a pedestrian on the street. 

Battery

Lagos De Campo Blvd.

On 04/19/2022, a victim was struck multiple times with a closed fist to her chest and shoulder area during a verbal altercation that turned physical. The attacker was taken into custody and transported to the BSO Main Jail.

Burglary Conveyance

8101 Southgate Blvd.

An unknown suspect burglarized the victim’s vehicle while at Gary B Jones Dog Park on 04/19/2022. Tot. Est. Loss: $470.

Burglary Residence

Treehouse Ln.

On 04/21/2022, unknown suspects broke into a secured patio and busted the rear sliding door with a crowbar, and fled the scene after causing major damage. According to a witness, one suspect had a gun and another a crowbar. The suspects fled in an unknown direction.

Fraud

W. Commercial Blvd

Fraud – Credit Card / Atm was reported on 04/19/2022.  A bank representative reported an ATM transaction that resulted in fraud. Tot. Est. Loss: $13,641.

Arrests

Camper, Ced`quan Malik, 23, was arrested on charges of Warrant- Robbery- Vop on W Commercial Blvd on 04/19/2022.

Rozo, Sara Sofia, 21, was arrested on Touch Or Strike/battery/dating Viol charges on Lagos De Campo Blvd on 04/19/2022.

Engles, Robert William, 73, was arrested on charges of Aggrav Assault – Weapon-w Deadly Weapon Without Intent To Kill on N University Dr on 04/19/2022.

Blumstein, Steven, 78, was arrested on charges of Warrant-violation Of Injunction om Fairfax Dr on 04/20/2022.

Saint Charles, Tyric Renand, 21, was arrested on charges of Probation Violation – Felony on W Commercial Blvd on 04/25/2022.
