Tamarac Crime Update: Student Forced To Leave School For Refusing To Wear Mask

Through our joint effort with the Broward Sheriff’s Office to share updates to residents is a summary of Tamarac crime and arrests through January 31, 2022.

Auto Theft

Treehouse Ln.

On 01/25/2022, a male caller advised he left his car running in front of his apartment for a few minutes, and when he returned, his vehicle was gone.

Buckeye Ct.

On  01/25/2022, a gray 2015 Lexus was reported stolen.

Burglary Building

Rock Island Rd.

On 01/27/2022, a construction site was burglarized. Deputies met with a caller who advised that unknown subjects broke the lock to the gate at the construction site overnight. Once inside the site, they broke into three storage containers and removed equipment valued at over $20,000.

Burglary Conveyance

Southgate Blvd.

On 01/26/2022, an unknown suspect entered the victim’s vehicle at a park and stole a loaded firearm from the glove compartment and a wallet from the center console. Tot. Est. Loss: $646.

Homicide

Woodlands Blvd

On 01/27/2022, a man was the victim of homicide. The victim was shot multiple times in the stairway of his apartment. The crime scene was held for homicide detectives, and the area was canvassed by several deputies for any possible witnesses.

Information

Hiatus Rd.

On 01/29/2022, staff at a school said a student did not want to wear her mask and was causing a disturbance. They wanted her trespassed. An employee told the student she trespassed in front of deputies, and the student agreed to leave. Deputies asked if she could finish the school day online, and the staff said she could.

NW 57th St.

On 01/25/2022, a male victim had heavy construction equipment fall on him while working.

Theft

Island Club Dr.

On 01/25/2022, a person was the victim of theft. Packages keep getting taken by an unknown suspect who roams the area when the delivery trucks make their rounds. Tot. Est. Loss: $145.

Arrests

Chappell, Darius Anthony, 25, was arrested on charges of Larc-grand Theft 750 Less Than 5k Dols on W Commercial Blvd on 01/26/2022.

Senra, Andrew James, 36, was arrested on charges of Warrant-count: 1 Felony Petit Theft Bond on W Commercial Blvd on 01/26/2022.

Cubano, Gabriel Luis, 35, was arrested on charges of Warrant- Vop count:1 Grand Theft Auto-no Bond on N State Road 7 on 01/28/2022.

Rembert, Evelyn Denise, 41, was arrested on charges of Battery-touch Or Strike on W Commercial Blvd. on 01/30/2022.
