Tamarac Crime Update: Latest Incidents Through December 2

Through our joint effort with the Broward Sheriff’s Office to share updates to residents, this is a summary of crimes that occurred in Tamarac through December 2.  Names of those not arrested have been redacted.

Animal Bite



8100 block of Southgate Blvd

On December 1, the deputy responded to the residence in reference to an animal bite, where a dog bit another dog on the tongue, causing a minor cut.

Baker Act

7625 West Commercial Blvd – Taco Bell

On December 1, the Taco Bell manager called 911 in reference to a male taking his clothes off in the restaurant, yelling profanity and acting belligerent towards her. After contact was made with the man, the deputy believed without care or treatment; he would hurt himself or others. He was Baker Acted and transported to University Hospital without incident.

Battery



5900 block of NW 56th Place – Chelsea Place

On December 1, deputies responded to a domestic violence battery incident between a husband and wife at their residence. The female arrestee was transported to the main jail.

Burglary Conveyance

11000 West McNab Road – Sunset Point Park

On November 26, an unknown suspect made fraudulent charges to the victim’s credit card at Coral Square Mall. This occurred around the same time as the previous day’s forced entry burglary.

8500 block of NW 61 Street

On November 30, an unknown suspect entered the victim’s unlocked car and removed her credit cards from the glove box. The card was used at an unknown Shell Gas Station.



Criminal Mischief



3800 West Commercial Blvd

On November 28, a male parked his Budget Car Rental vehicle outside of the La Quinta hotel on 11/28 and found the vehicle damaged on 11/29. The vehicle had a broken rear window and what appeared to be BB gun pellet marks to the rear end of the SUV.

5400 block of NW 49 Ave

On November 29, the victim reported that between 11/27 and 11/29, the front window of his residence was broken, and the screen appeared to be pushed in slightly.

8100 block of NW 73 Ave

On December 1, a disturbance between two neighbors took place when a male and female neighbor were verbally arguing. The female approached the male’s driveway with a rock. The male displayed a pistol, and the female returned to her residence.

Runaway

7100 block of NW 83 Street

On December 2, a mother reported her 15-year-old daughter did not return home from school. The juvenile is a habitual runaway.

Theft – all other

7071 West Commercial Blvd

On November 26, the director of operations called to inform the police department of an employee using her company status as a means to steal from the company.

5901 NW 79 Ave Heartland of Tamarac Assisted Living

On November 28, the victim’s iPhone 8 Plus was stolen from the nurse station by an unknown suspect.

Theft – Retail, Shoplifting

8801 West Commercial Blvd – Walgreens Pharmacy

On November 26, an unknown male and female with two children removed multiple items from the store. The reporting person only remembered the suspects took the following items: one Vitamin Water, one Kellogg’s Froot Loops, and one Always Maxi Pads. They walked past all points of sale and exited without paying. They left in an unknown direction.

3914 West Commercial Blvd – Walgreens Pharmacy

On November 29, an unknown male concealed a B&H JVA evening clutch bag inside his pants, total worth of $15.00. The suspect then walked out of the establishment without making any attempt to pay.

Violation of Parole/ Probation / Community Control

7050 North University Drive – ALDI

On November 29, the suspect was arrested for violating probation. Post Miranda, he admitted to masturbating in public.
