Tamarac Crime Update: Latest Incidents Through November 11

Through our joint effort with the Broward Sheriff’s Office to share updates to residents, this is a summary of crimes that occurred in Tamarac through November 11.  Names of those not arrested have been redacted.

Battery

6100 block of Pine Tree Lane

On November 7, deputies responded to a disturbance that occurred between brothers in which an investigation revealed that one party had sustained injuries and the other was arrested for domestic battery and transported to the main jail.

Burglary Conveyance

4700 block of NW 44 Court – Mainlands

On November 5, the victim reported his fanny pack, which contained his wallet and identification, was missing from his vehicle’s trunk. The victim advised his doors were locked. No forced entry was observed.

60 block of Ann Lee Lane

On November 7, the victim reported that an unknown person(s) entered the victims’ unlocked vehicle and removed both victims’ wallets.

Burglary Residence

7800 block of NW 77 Ave

On November 8, while the residents were out to dinner, an unknown subject(s) entered their residence and stole a diamond ring and a yellow/white necklace from their bedroom. The total loss was approximately $43,000.

Criminal Mischief

50 block of Meacham Lane

On November 8, the complainant advised the windows of her vehicle were damaged overnight by unknown suspect(s).

7600 block of NW 108 Terrace

On November 9, during a routine patrol, deputies noticed graffiti and markings around different parts of NW 108 Terrace and NW 100 Ave.

11000 block of Light House Court Sanibel

On November 9, the victim reported an unknown person(s) smashed his black Jeep SUV rear window.

Domestic Disturbance

7700 block of NW 79 Ave – Bonaire at Woodmont

On November 11, the victim reported a verbal domestic dispute between a mother and her teenage daughter about the daughter’s boyfriend not being allowed to sleep over. A younger teenage sibling who viewed the altercation and was extremely distraught. No victims were listed.

Recovered Auto

8400 block of NW 61 Street

On November 6, deputies received a call from BMW that a stolen vehicle from Miami was parked in a parking lot. The deputy recovered it. It was unoccupied and towed to Westway.

Suspicious Incident

8000 block of Buttonwood Wood Circle – Buttonwood at Woodmont

On November 11, the victim reported his window screens were removed with no signs of forced entry to the residence.

Theft – all other

7397 NW 76th Court

On November 8, the victim reported his temporary motor vehicle paper tag was stolen off of a vehicle parked in the driveway of his residence. The theft occurred between 11/07 at 9 p.m. and 11/08 at 6:00 a.m. There was no surveillance or witnesses.

9500 block of Weldon Circle

On November 8, the victim reported an unknown person(s) removed approximately $20,000 worth of jewelry from the victim’s bedroom.

7000 NW 79 Ave

On November 8, the resident wished to report the theft of a UPS delivered iPhone.

Theft – motor vehicle/parts

8000 block of Lagos De Campo Blvd – Cannon gate

On November 11, the complainant advised all four of his tires and rims were stolen from his vehicle.

6700 block of North University Drive – Concord Village

On November 11, the victim reported an unknown suspect(s) stole all four tires and wheel rims from the victim’s Toyota Camry. The vehicle was safely positioned on two bricks. No entry was made to the vehicle.

8000 block of West McNab Road – Concord Village

On November 12, the victim reported all four wheels were taken off of her Toyota Corolla overnight.

Theft – retail, shoplifting

6401 West Commercial Blvd – Walgreens

On November 5, at 11:20 p.m., an unknown male entered Walgreens with a black bag and filled it with various soaps. The items taken totaled $348.97.

3150 West Commercial Blvd – Family Dollar

On November 6, deputies responded to a retail theft at the Family Dollar involving two males who stole laundry detergent and other items.

3914 West Commercial Blvd – Walgreens

On November 7, at 1:13 p.m., a male entered the store with a female. The male forced open a locked perfume cabinet behind the cash register in the makeup section with an unknown tool and removed a Carolina Herrera Good Girl Perfume from the cabinet. He proceeded past all points of sale and exited without paying and left in a white BMW sedan in an unknown direction.

3914 West Commercial Blvd – Walgreens

On November 7, at 6:10 p.m., an unidentified male entered the store and opened the locked display case of cologne. The suspect removed over $500 worth of cologne from the store without paying. The suspect left in an unknown direction of travel by unknown means.

900 North University Drive – CVS Pharmacy

On November 8, two unknown females entered the business and removed $1,145 worth of deodorant and make-up from the shelves, concealing the items inside their purse. Once they exited the store, they got into a white, older model Nissan Altima with the front bumper missing from the vehicle.

3116 West Commercial Blvd – Winn-Dixie

On November 8, the reporting person advised that an unknown male entered the Winn-Dixie Supermarket and concealed three bags of frozen crab in a gift bag and walked past all points of sale, then exited the store without paying for the items. The total value of items stolen was $97.74.

Information

4600 block of NW 44 Street Mainlands

On November 9, a female subject overdosed on heroin in the bathroom of her residence. Her father administered two doses of Narcan, and she was transported to FMC by Tamarac Fire Rescue. The female subject was alert and responsive.
