Tamarac Crime Update: Latest Incidents Through November 17

Through our joint effort with the Broward Sheriff’s Office to share updates to residents, this is a summary of crimes that occurred in Tamarac through November 17.  Names of those not arrested have been redacted.

Burglary

6800 block of NW 70 Ave

On November 13, the reporting person advised that he is currently renting a vehicle, and during the overnight hours, it was unknown how the driver side window was smashed while parked in the community parking lot.

Burglary Conveyance

4800 block of Holly Drive – The Woodlands

On November 12, the complainant advised her vehicle was burglarized by an unknown suspect(s), and three checkbooks were stolen.

4700 block of Queen Palm Lane – The Woodlands

On November 13, an unidentified male burglarized the victim’s car in her driveway while she was sleeping.

5755 NW 58 Ave – The Osprey

On November 13, the victim reported a burglary conveyance to his Lincoln between 5:30 p.m. and 8:15 a.m. A black leather Nike wallet was taken from inside the vehicle that contained a Florida Driver License, an ID card, and 14 credit cards. The crime scene was processed, and a Property Management Company was contacted for video surveillance.

6300 block of Ironwood Circle – The Woodlands

On November 13, the victim reported an unknown suspect broke into her Dodge Ram and stole an iPhone 6 and an iPad. The scene was processed, and latent prints were obtained.

5900 block of Riverside Ave – Riverside

On November 13, the victim reported her front passenger window was smashed with an unknown object by an unidentified individual. The glove box was rummaged through, but no items were taken.

5700 block of Swordfish Circle – Woodland Greens

On November 13, the victim reported a burglary conveyance to her Hyundai Sonata overnight. Her black leather Guess wallet was taken from inside the vehicle and contained a Florida Driver License and a debit card. The crime scene was processed for latent prints with negative results. There was no video surveillance in the area.

Burglary Residence

10000 block of South Nob Hill Circle – Vizcaya Village

Between November 14 and November 15, the suspect kicked in the front door and trashed the interior of the apartment. The suspect sliced the mattress and sofa and left the mattress in front of the apartment. The victim believed it was his girlfriend.

5600 block of Rock Island Road

On November 16, the victim advised that an unknown person(s) made entry into his apartment while he was sleeping, and when the alarm sounded, they fled the scene.

Criminal Mischief

6100 block of Laurel Lane

On November 13, the victim reported her vehicle’s driver side rear glass window was smashed in with an unknown object. No entry was made into the vehicle. Nothing was taken. The area was canvassed for camera surveillance.

7600 block of Westwood Drive – South Palm Place

On November 17, the victim reported an unknown suspect(s) had vandalized his Mercedes while parked in his parking space between 11/9 and 11/11. The suspect(s) keyed in the entire exterior body of the vehicle.

Found Property

7800 block of NW 75 Ave – Heathgate

On November 17, an anonymous caller reported a suspicious vehicle and backpacks lying in the grass. The backpacks were entered into safekeeping.

Information

4914 North State Road 7 – Dunkin’ Donuts

On November 12, there was a verbal dispute reported between a female who has a restraining order against another female who works in the Dunkin’ Donuts.

Property Damage

6900 block of NW 57 Street/NW 70 Ave – Mbr Construction Inc.

On November 12, the complainant advised sometime between 10/21 and 11/8; damage was caused to two of the newly constructed buffer walls. The estimated cost to repair was between $10,000-$15,000.

Recovered Auto

6800 block of Southgate Blvd – Mission Lakes Apartments

On November 16, a stolen vehicle out of Coral Springs was recovered unoccupied. Latent prints were lifted and submitted into evidence. The vehicle was towed to Westway Towing.

Theft – retail/shoplifting

6900 North University Drive – CVS

On November 13, the victim reported three suspects entered the CVS and filled two large Hallmark gift bags that they removed from the gift bag aisle with various Dove, Olay, hair, and personal hygiene products valued at $454.31. Then, they walked past all points of sale and exited without paying. They left in an unknown direction. A copy of the store video surveillance was obtained.

7305 West Commercial Blvd – Pep Boys

On November 13, an unidentified male and female walked out of Pep Boys with various items after bypassing all points of sale. The total price of the items taken equaled $169.99. The male and female got in a car driven by a getaway driver.

Theft – all other

4197 West Commercial Blvd – Marshall’s

On November 17, the victim reported her wallet was stolen after leaving it at Marshall’s.

Theft – from building

7059 North Pine Island Road – Tamarac Kidney Center

On November 13, the victim advised an unknown suspect(s) stole his JBL Bluetooth speaker while he was in the bathroom. The victim alleged the assisting nurse must have been the one who stole the speaker, but he did not have evidence to prove it.

Theft – motor vehicle parts

8300 block of Sands Point Boulevard – Sands Point

On November 12, the victim reported the rims and tires were stolen from his Honda Accord.

On November 12, the victim reported an unknown suspect(s) stole all four tires and wheel rims from her Toyota Camry. The vehicle was safely positioned on two bricks. No entry was made to the vehicle.

9700 block of West McNab Road – Tamarac Gardens West

On November 12, the victim reported an unknown suspect(s) stole all four tires and wheel rims from his Honda Accord. The vehicle was safely positioned on two bricks. No entry was made to the vehicle.

9900 block of NW 68th Place

On November 12, the victim reported an unknown suspect(s) attempted to steal the tires and wheel rims from his Toyota Camry. The suspect(s) removed the lug nuts of the right rear tire but left them on the scene. DNA samples were collected from the lug nuts.

9300 block of Lime Bay Blvd – Lime Bay

On November 12, an unknown suspect(s) stole all four tires and wheel rims from the victim’s Honda Accord. The vehicle was positioned on two bricks. No entry was made to the vehicle.

Theft – retail, shoplifting

3914 West Commercial Blvd – Walgreens

On November 12, an unknown male and female walked out of Walgreens with various items after bypassing all points of sale. The total price of the items taken was $83.16.
