Through our joint effort with the Broward Sheriff’s Office to share updates with residents, this is a summary of Tamarac crime and arrests through Aug. 15, 2022.
Aggravated Assault
W. Commercial Blvd.
On 08/11/2022, an arrest was made for an aggravated assault. A dispute began between neighbors, which resulted in one of the individuals wielding a knife and the other being in fear for their life. Weapon(s) were recovered, and the offender was transported to BSO Main Jail.
Burglary Conveyance
NW 46th St.
A person was the victim of Burglary Conveyance on 08/13/2022. The subject removed $500 worth of property from the vehicle.
Aggravated Battery
N. State Rd. 7
On 08/11/2022, a person was the victim of aggravated battery occurred within a nightclub where a wine bottle was thrown at the victim. The victim sustained a minor laceration to his lip. The offender was gone upon the deputy’s arrival.
Fraud
NW 94th Way
A person was the victim of Fraud – All Other on 08/10/2022. The complainant was defrauded by the subject, who gained financial gains for home construction and did not finish. Tot. Est. Loss: $41,300.
Black Olive Way
A person was the victim of Fraud – All Other on 08/14/2022. Their PayPal account was hacked, and $1,300.41 was stolen.
Stalking
N. Pine Island Rd.
Two people were the victims of Stalking on 08/10/2022—an ongoing issue between victims and one of the victims’ ex-girlfriends. The person is stalking and harassing both victims and damaged their vehicles.
Theft
Sabal Palm Blvd.
On 08/11/2022, catalytic converters were stolen from a pick-up truck. Tot. Est. Loss: $1,600.
Arrests
Rivera, Rafael, 49, was arrested on charges of Aggrav Assault – Weapon-w Deadly Weapon Without Intent To Kill on N Pine Island Rd, Tamarac on 08/09/2022.
Taylor, Tavares Lamar, 41, was arrested on charges of Operating While Dl Suspended/canceled/revoked-no Prior on Nw 31st Ave on 08/09/2022.
Shirey, Shaun Hunter, 34, was arrested on Viol Injunction Protection Domestic Violence charges on Nw 72nd Ave on 08/10/2022.
Muller, Mason Julius, 21, was arrested on charges of Battery-on Person 65 Years Of Age Or Older on Nw 70th Ter on 08/11/2022.
Lockwood, Richard W., 51, was arrested on charges of Aggrav Assault – Weapon-w Deadly Weapon Without Intent To Kill on W Commercial Blvd on 08/12/2022.
Pottinger, Akeem, 26, was arrested on charges of Touch Or Strike/battery/domestic Viol On S Nob Hill Cir on 08/13/2022.
Sherwood, Janice J., 62, was arrested on charges of Battery-on Person 65 Years Of Age Or Older on Nw 50th Way on 08/13/2022.
