Tamarac Crime Update: Power Line Cut In Attempted Burglary

Through our joint effort with the Broward Sheriff’s Office to share updates with residents, this is a summary of Tamarac crime and arrests through April 18, 2022.

Attempted Burglary of Business

Prospect Rd.

On 04/12/2022, someone cut the main powerline at a business as part of an attempted burglary. The power was lost.

Burglary Conveyance

Rock Island Rd.

On 04/14/2022, an unknown subject broke into a woman’s 2021 white Honda Accord. Tot. Est. Loss: $3,400.

Rock Island Rd.

On 4/14/2022, unknown subjects broke the window of a male victim’s 2021 black Toyota Camry and ransacked the glove box. Nothing of value was taken.

Battery

Island Club Dr.

On 04/13/2022, a woman scratched her ex-boyfriend in the face.

Fraud

Woodlands Blvd.

On 04/13/2022, a victim reported that they paid a general contractor $200,000 for agreed-upon work the company never completed. Est. Tot. Loss: $205,924.

Theft

W. Commercial Blvd.

On 04/12/2022, an unknown person damaged the pump handle at a gas station, and gas was pumped without customers being charged. The total estimated loss was about $3,000.

W. Commercial Blvd.

On 04/15/2022, an operation was conducted to catch a person known to steal merchandise around Broward County. The operation resulted in an arrest of the individual in Margate and a recovery of over $14,000 in stolen merchandise.

Arrests

Simpson, Ashaunna Tameika Khadeli, 19, was arrested on charges of Touch Or Strike/battery/dating Viol on Island Club Dr on 04/13/2022.

Pottinger, Akeem, 25, was arrested on Touch Or Strike/battery/domestic Viol charges on S Nob Hill Cir on 04/15/2022.

Lawery, Jade Revaye Jackson, 20, was arrested on charges of Agg Battery Cause Bodily Harm on S Nob Hill Cir on 04/15/2022.

Mathias, Jennifer Monique, 41, was arrested on Touch Or Strike/battery/domestic Viol charges on Nw 72nd Ter on 04/15/2022.
