Tamarac Crime Update: Self-Inflicted Shooting and Theft

Through our joint effort with the Broward Sheriff’s Office to share updates to residents, this is a summary of Tamarac crime and arrests through July 26, 2021.

Auto Theft

N. Colony Cir.

On July 24, the victim parked her vehicle in her parking lot. She went inside for the night and returned in the morning to find her vehicle missing.

NW 75th Ave.

On July 25, a police report was generated about a delayed, stolen vehicle report. Coral Springs Police Department located the victim’s 2015 GMC Sierra, which was determined to have been stolen earlier in the morning without the owner’s knowledge. Coral Springs Police Department also arrested Lovan Gibbs Jr. for this incident.

Burglary Conveyance

Hiatus Rd.

On July 23, the victim left work at the end of the day and noticed his handgun was taken from his vehicle. The victim admitted he left the car unlocked because he was running late. Tot. Est. Loss: $625.

Rock Island Rd.

On July 21, a woman was the victim of Burglary Conveyance. Caller advised an unknown person stole two portable video players from her vehicle. Tot. Est. Loss: $200.

Burglary Residence

Manchester Way

On July 23, the victim called to report a burglary committed by a person who entered his home through a back window by removing the screen and took his personal firearm. Tot. Est. Loss: $700.

Fraud

W. McNab Rd.

On July 22, the suspect was fired from employment and cashed a stolen check. Tot. Est. Loss: $1,300.

Shooting

W. Commercial Blvd.

On July 24, the victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries to his left leg due to a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Theft

W. McNab Rd.

On July 21, the reporting person said they needed to make a police report for a stolen feather banner Lotto sign. Tot. Est. Loss: $300.

N. University Drive

On July 20, the victim reported that an unknown person stole her wallet from a cabinet at her place of work. Credit cards that were inside her wallet were used. Tot. Est. Loss: $800.

Trespassing

W. Commercial Blvd.

On July 23, the subject was evicted and advised to remove all property from the location. The subject later returned to the property and was officially trespassed from the property. After being given several opportunities to remove himself from the property, the subject was taken into custody for Trespass After Warning. Subject transported to BSO Main Jail without incident.

Arrests

Saintjourt, Johnathan, 34, was arrested on charges of Felony Battery-domestic Viol on Rock Island Rd on 07/23/2021.

Williams, Christin Anthony, 32, was arrested on charges of Trespassing-fail To Leave Property Upon Order By Owner on W Commercial Blvd on 07/23/2021.

Dixon, Lamont Antonia, 52, was arrested on charges of Larc-retail Theft 300 More Dols 2nd Subsq Off on W Commercial Blvd on 07/23/2021.

Ricketts, David Archibald, 28, was arrested on charges of Warrant-Tresspass on NW 61st St on 07/24/2021.
