Tamarac Crime Update: Home Burglary Thieves Score $40K Worth of Jewelry

Through our joint effort with the Broward Sheriff’s Office to share updates with the residents, this is a summary of Tamarac crime events through March 13.

Fraud – All Other

A victim of Fraud – All Other on W McNab Road was reported on 03/07/2023. The total loss was $23,750. Reporting person sent a deposit to a contractor to work on his condo and never was contacted by the contractor to do the job.

Fraud – Credit Card / Atm

A Fraud – Credit Card / Atm victim on N Colony Circle was reported on 03/08/2023. The total loss was $926. Victim advised that an unknown person(s) stole his Chase Bank debit card and used it to withdraw approximately $926.00 from his checking account.

Auto Theft

A victim of Auto Theft on W McNab Road was reported on 03/10/2023. Unknown suspects stole the victim`s 2021 Honda Accord Sport from the parking lot.

A victim of Auto Theft on N State Road 7 was reported on 03/07/2023. Reporting person left the keys in the vehicle, and an unknown suspect fled in the vehicle.

Burglary Conveyance

A victim of Burglary Conveyance on N State Road 7 was reported on 03/08/2023. The total loss was $840. The victim said an unknown suspect unlawfully entered her unlocked 2021 White Volkswagen Tiguan and removed a black backpack containing an iPhone cellphone and several prescription medications. The total amount taken was approximately $840.  

A victim of Burglary Conveyance on N Pine Island Road was reported on 03/08/2023. The total loss was $2,230. An unknown suspect burglarized the victim`s vehicle and stole a purse that contained an iPhone and $700.

Theft – All Other

A victim of Theft – All Other on Weldon Circle was reported on 03/08/2023. The total loss was $3,500.

Burglary Residence

A victim of Burglary Residence on Trent Drive was reported on 03/08/2023. The victim came home and noticed an estimated $40,000 of jewelry stolen. 

Fire

A fire on W Westwood Blvd was reported on 03/08/2023. A vehicle fire occurred in the parking lot. The fire was extinguished by fire rescue. 

Theft – Motor Vehicle Parts

A victim of Theft – Motor Vehicle Parts NW 59 Court was reported on 03/09/2023. The total loss was $1,900. The victim reported that her 2021 red Toyota Corolla SE rims and tires had been stolen and that the vehicle was left on two blocks.

Lost Property

A victim of Lost Property on W McNab Road was reported on 03/13/2023. A firearm was placed on top of the vehicle while loading a trailer. The firearm was forgotten and subsequently lost when driving away.

Arrests

Nothing Bundt Cakes

Tavarez, Tatiana A., 25, was arrested on a charge of Warrant- Homicide W/Firearm 1st Degree at NW 75th Court on 03/07/2023.

Gonzalez, Carolina, 25 Arrested on a Touch Or Strike/Battery/Domestic Violence charge on W Commercial Blvd on 03/09/2023.

Mackey, Danny, 22, was arrested on a charge of Aggravated Battery-Cause Bodily Harm Or Disability on  NW 48 Terrace on 03/09/2023.

Gayle, Jennifer I., 65, was arrested on a charge of Warrant-Capias Defraud Financial Instituti0n on NW 76 Drive on 03/10/2023.

Etienne, Steven F., 39, was arrested on a charge of Touch Or Strike/Battery/Domestic Violence at NW 75 Steet/N Pine Island Road on 03/12/2023.
