Through our joint effort with the Broward Sheriff’s Office to share updates to residents, this is a summary of crimes that occurred in Tamarac through August 5. Names of those not arrested have been redacted.
Burglary Conveyance
11000 West McNab Road – Sunset Point Park
On July 28, a burglary suspect smashed the right front window of the victim’s vehicle and stole her purse from the front floorboard.
7700 block of NW 74th Terrace
On August 1, a Glock 19 Gen 49mm and an extended magazine with 30 rounds were stolen from the glove compartment of the victim’s unsecured vehicle by an unknown subject(s). Latent prints were recovered from the front passenger door.
6000 Hiatus Road – Tamarac Fire Rescue Station 15
On July 31, the victim reported an unknown suspect forced entry into the rear tag of the victim’s truck and stole a black bag full of firefighter gear.
4500 block of NW 43rd Ave
On August 2, the male victim had two debit cards and a California ID, along with approximately $270 in cash taken from his unlocked vehicle parked in his driveway.
6900 block of NW 81st Place
On August 2, an unknown male was seen gaining access to the victim’s vehicle with a possible key fob. No items were taken.
7000 block of NW 76th Court
On August 2, four victims’ vehicles were burglarized overnight. Only one victim reported a missing wallet.
6930 NW 81st Place – Dex Imaging
On August 2, three unknown male suspects burglarized the victim’s vehicle. Nothing was taken.
7612 NW 72nd Way
On August 2, the victim advised that his vehicle was burglarized overnight.
8100 block of Princess Palm Circle
On August 2, an unknown suspect entered the unlocked Hyundai parked in the driveway. The vehicle was ransacked, but nothing was taken. The suspect attempted to enter three additional vehicles next door, but they were locked. The video was available from both homes.
8000 block of Palmetto Palm Circle
On August 2, an unknown suspect entered the victim’s vehicle through an unlocked door and ransacked the glove compartment. The victim advised nothing was missing.
6819 NW 70th Ave
On August 2, the victim advised his unlocked vehicle was burglarized overnight.
5701 North University Drive – Cleveland Clinic
On August 3, the victim reported an unknown suspect entered her vehicle and removed her passport and green card, as well as the extension of her green card and visa.
Theft – Retail/Shoplifting
4161 West Commercial Blvd – Publix Liquors
On July 25, an unknown black male entered the store and walked beyond all points of sale with six bottles of Hennessy ($343.94). The subject got into an older white Mercedes and fled westbound on Commercial Blvd.
8790 West McNab Road – Walgreens
On August 2, a subject walked into the store and took four mini wine bottles and started drinking them. He walked out of the store without paying.
4197 West Commercial Blvd – Marshalls
On August 2, a suspect entered the store and stole clothing and a pair of shoes. He used a box cutter to remove the security device on the items before leaving the store.
3914 West Commercial Boulevard – Walgreens
On August 2, a suspect took two 18-packs of Heineken beer ($50) and other unknown items. The suspect went out the rear door without paying, triggering the fire alarm on the door.
5881 North University Drive – Publix
On August 4, a Publix manager stated her loss prevention employee had informed her of a theft in the store. The employee said he witnessed a black male, wearing a red t-shirt and tan shorts commit a theft. The suspect took a bag of Publix shrimp ($25.49) and a package of Publix Ribeye steaks ($17.03). He then walked past all points of sale and entered into an older model blue Mercedes. The suspect is still at large.
5881 North University Drive – Publix
On August 4, a female suspect knowingly took possession of and carried away one box of 40 Crest 3D Whitestrips ($59.99), one box of 28 Crest 3D Whitestrips ($44.99), and two boxes of Rogaine for Men ($49.99) in her purse. She walked past all points of sale intending to deprive Publix of possession, use, benefit, and full retail value. A Loss Prevention Employee witnessed the incident. A body-worn camera was in use.
Theft – bicycle
9400 block of North Belfort Circle
On July 25, the victim reported the theft of his bicycle from a bike rack at the Belfort Apartment Complex.
Theft – all other
9901 NW 77th Street – Tamarac Sports Complex
On July 28, an unknown suspect stole a $900 Apple iPhone X from within the 21-year-old victim’s duffel bag while the victim was playing basketball. The serial number of the phone was provided by the victim and entered into FCIC/NCIC as stolen.
6921 North Pine Island Road
On July 28, the victim left her pink change pouch, which contained her Florida driver’s license and approximately $2.00 in miscellaneous change on the counter inside the convenience store. When she returned, the change pouch was gone. The clerk advised that it was not turned in.
8000 block of NW 96th Terrace
On August 4, an unknown suspect jumped over a fence onto the victim’s patio and stole one bottle of liquor and one pack of cigarettes. The incident was captured on video surveillance.
7200 block of South Devon Drive
On August 4, a resident of Kings Point reported that jewelry valued at $2,000 to $4,000 was taken from her residence sometime between 8/2/19 and 8/4/19 by an unknown person and unknown means.
Theft – Motor vehicle parts
6950 Southgate Blvd
On August 4, an unknown person(s) took a tire and rim off of the victim’s vehicle.
Auto Theft
7300 block of NW 60th Street
On August 4, the victim advised that one of his vehicles was burglarized which led to his other vehicle being stolen overnight.
Information
8500 block of NW 61st Street
On July 25, BSO responded to the Tamarac residence in reference to threats made over a video game to shoot up a school. No victims were listed.
Criminal Mischief
10003 Southgate Blvd – Tephford Park
On July 31, an unknown subject driving an unknown two-door hatchback type of vehicle drove through the gate to the parking lot.
Suspicious Incident
5400 block of North SR 7
On August 2, a Lakeside Community resident reported they had video of a Latin male suspect looking into their windows around 5:00 a.m.
