Tamarac Crime Update Through July 1

Through our joint effort with the Broward Sheriff’s Office to share updates to residents, this is a summary of crimes that occurred in Tamarac through July 1.  Names of those not arrested have been redacted.

Burglary Conveyance

Woodmont Terrace – Jasmine/Cypress at Woodmont

On June 25, the victim reported his Toyota Corolla was broken into overnight by someone smashing the front passenger window.

8500 block of NW 61st Street

On June 25, a female victim reported a burglary to her vehicle overnight between 6/24/19 and 6/25/19.

8400 block of NW 61st Street

On June 25 at 11:36 p.m., an unknown subject(s) broke the front passenger side window of the victim’s Black Ford Mustang.

4400 block of Treehouse Lane

On June 26, police responded to the residence in reference to a burglary conveyance overnight. The victim’s vehicle was ransacked, but nothing was taken.

Petit Theft

5900 block of NW 88th Ave – 72 West Apartments

On June 24, an unknown suspect(s) stole a package that UPS left at the victim’s front door that contained a Rogue guitar valued at $100.

Auto Theft

5600 block of NW 49th Terrace

On June 26, an unknown person stole the victim’s car from her driveway while she was sleeping. There was no suspect or sign of forced entry.

Assault

3160 West Commercial Blvd – Winn Dixie

On June 25, the manager of a Winn Dixie Store was confronted by an unknown subject who threw Mountain Dew on her and threatened to beat her up after she left work.

Information

3914 West Commercial Blvd – Walgreens

On June 25, police responded to Walgreens in reference to a cashier who received a counterfeit ten dollar bill from a customer.

Theft – All other

5600 North University Drive/NW 57th Street

On June 26, the complainant advised his wallet and cellphone were stolen at the bus stop.

9900 block of North Belfort Circle

On June 26, police responded to the residence in reference to a theft where a credit card holder containing three credit cards were stolen.

4100 block of Lakeside Drive

On June 26, police responded to the residence in reference to the theft of a phone and $800 from a bank account between 6/24 and 6/26. ]

Burglary Business

7551 NW 64th Street – Fast Embroidery

On June 26, an unknown subject(s) used an unknown tool to break the lock of the front door and gain entry into the business. The item taken was an envelope with $30.00. No video surveillance or witnesses were available.

Fraud

9439 West Commercial Blvd – Ferguson Plumbing Supply

On June 27, the victim reported the suspect used a fraudulent credit card on 4/26/19 and 5/4/19. He was apprehended by the Seminole County Sheriffs Office for conducting the same fraudulent transaction on 5/16/19.

Lost Property

7401 West Commercial Blvd – Golden Corral

On June 27, the victim advised she left her purse at Golden Corral, and upon discovering it was missing, she returned to the restaurant, and it was not there and had not been turned in by anyone. At that time, the video was not available for review.

Battery

5800 block of Hampton Hills Blvd

On June 27, the suspect had a physical altercation with his mother. He was charged with battery for grabbing her around her neck area and pulling her to the floor.

Theft – Retail/Shoplifting

4197 West Commercial Blvd – Marshalls

On June 27, the male suspect was placed under arrest after loss prevention detained him for shoplifting in the amount of $154.92.

4121 West Commercial Blvd – Publix

On June 27, loss Prevention reported that household items were stolen by an Indian woman, who left in her vehicle.

Found Property

8200 block of North University Drive

On June 27, the reporting person found a wallet and brought it to the Tamarac District Office.

Burglary Residence

5900 block of Cedar Circle – The Woodlands

On June 27, the victim reported that an unsecured window was opened and several items were taken from the home between 6/26 and 6/27.
