Through our joint effort with the Broward Sheriff’s Office to share updates to residents, this is a summary of crimes that occurred in Tamarac through July 28. Names of those not arrested have been redacted.
Burglary Conveyance
9300 Southgate Blvd –7525 North Pine Island Road – Safety Systems Barricades
On July 19, batteries were stolen from inside of the digital safety signs for the road construction. There were several related cases.
7501 NW 57th Street – Planet Fitness
On July 24, police responded to Planet Fitness about a burglary to a vehicle. Only a Glock 27 was taken.
6000 block of NW 66th Terrace –
On July 25, a male caller reported his vehicle was burglarized.
6700 block of NW 60th Street –
On July 25, an unknown suspect(s) made entry into the victim’s vehicles and ransacked the inside.
6700 block of NW 61st Street –
On July 25, a female caller reported her vehicle was burglarized.
5900 block of NW 67th Ave
On July 25, an unknown suspect(s) made entry into the victim’s vehicle and stole a foldable wallet containing a driver’s license, credit cards, and cash.
5231 North State Road 7 – Tamarac Square Plaza
On July 28, a black male wearing all black smashed the passenger side window of the victim’s vehicle and removed a small backpack from the top of the passenger seat. The suspect left the plaza in a black four-door, Buick. An unknown person drove the vehicle.
Theft – Retail/Shoplifting
7104 North University Drive – DD`s Discounts
On July 19, the reporting persons advised that three black females entered the store and stole 34 items on June 14, and then the same three females returned on July 19 and attempted to steal additional items, but realized they were being watched. As the three females were walking out, one knocked seven boxes of perfume off of a shelf, causing them to hit the floor and break. Before exiting the store, the same female turned around and verbally threatened to “punch in the face” a loss prevention employee that was following her.
3915 West Commercial Blvd – CVS
On July 23, six cases of beers were stolen from the store at 1:37 a.m.
4121 West Commercial Blvd – Publix Super Markets
On July 24, an unknown male wearing a neon yellow vest concealed 3 Tide Pod containers valued at $58.47 into his black backpack, then passed all points of sale. The unidentified male then ran out of the store, leaving the area on a bicycle.
Theft – All other
8000 block of North Colony Circle
On July 20, the victim reported that his iPhone, which was delivered by UPS was taken from the front of his residence while he was at work.
Fire
7925 North Colony Circle – Versailles Gardens Condos
On July 20, an electrical fire occurred inside a bathroom in one of the units. Heavy smoke from the fire affected multiple units.
Criminal Mischief
5200 block of Gate Lake Road
On July 21, the victim advised that an unknown person(s) damaged his vehicle by scratching it with an unknown object.
Arrestable Traffic Violation
5000 block of West Commercial Blvd
On July 21, a male driver, 38, operated a vehicle with no tag. Further investigation revealed the driver had five prior convictions for driving without a license, which led to an arrest.
Auto Theft
5900 block of Riverside Avenue
A black 2018 Infiniti Q50 was taken between 12:30 AM and 6:00 AM on July 23.
4800 block of NW 55th Place
On July 24, two unknown male subject(s) were seen on video pushing the victim’s vehicle out of the driveway. The vehicle doors were left unlocked.
9100 block of Lancaster Street – Hampton Hills
On July 24, a 2019 blue Nissan Sentra was taken between 7:00 p.m. on 7/23 and 4:30 a.m. on 7/24.
Disorderly Conduct
10004 West Mcnab Road – CVS Pharmacy
On July 23, a male subject, 34, entered CVS Pharmacy and caused a disturbance by screaming at random patrons and refusing to leave. He was apprehended outside of the store and charged with disorderly conduct.
