Tamarac Crime Update Through June 17

Through our joint effort with the Broward Sheriff’s Office to share updates to residents, this is a summary of crimes that occurred in Tamarac through June 17.

Burglary Conveyance

7200 block of NW 61st Street

On June 11, the victim reported her vehicle was burglarized in her driveway overnight.

5800 block of East Grand Duke Circle

On June 12, the victim reported a burglary to his vehicle. It appeared that suspects made entry via the unlocked passenger side front door and rummaged through the glove box. Nothing was stolen.

4900 block of NW 54th Street

On June 12, the victim reported an unknown suspect(s) broke into her vehicle, which was left unlocked and took her wallet.

8400 block of NW 61st Street

On June 14, several burglary conveyances occurred with an unknown suspect.

4100 block of Lakeside Drive – Lakeside Condos

On June 14, the victim reported she had left her Michael Kors purse in her vehicle on the passenger floorboard on June 13. She noticed her purse was missing the next morning before she left to do errands.

10 block of Spinning Wheel Ln – Shaker Village

On June 14, the victim reported her unlocked vehicle was burglarized overnight.

6000 block of North Sabal Palm Blvd

On June 14, the victim reported that unknown suspect(s) removed all four tires and rims on her vehicle and left the vehicle sitting on bricks.

4000 block of Lakeside Drive

On June 17, police responded about two burglary conveyances. Upon arrival, the victims advised their vehicles were burglarized by an unknown suspect(s). Both stated that they went outside to their vehicles and noticed their doors were left open.

Auto Theft

7300 block of NW 58th Court

On June 12, the victim reported an unknown suspect(s) stole the vehicle out of her driveway. The vehicle was left unlocked and had a spare key inside of it.

Recovered Auto

6000 block of North University Drive

On June 12, OnStar advised of the location of a current stolen vehicle. Police responded and recovered the vehicle, which was reported stolen in the City of Lauderhill. The vehicle was processed for latent prints and towed by for storage.

Fraud

7001 West Commercial Blvd – TD Bank

On June 12, the complainant advised she was scammed out of $800.

8100 block of North University Drive

On June 13, the victim reported her American Express credit card was used twice at Walgreens on June 12.

4600 block of NW 59th Court

On June 14, the victim, who lives out of state advised that an unknown person(s) used his personal information to open an FPL account at his Tamarac address.

Fire

8400 block of Lagos De Campo Blvd – Fairways Of Tamarac

On June 12, a pool pump/filtration system caught on fire and was destroyed. The damage was estimated to be $6,000.

Theft – Retail/Shoplifting

3150 West Commercial Blvd – Family Dollar

On June 12, two unknown females entered the Family Dollar and stole approximately $100 in merchandise.

3915 West Commercial Blvd – CVS

On June 12, unknown suspects walked into the store and stole baby and adult Pampers valued at $59.97.

3150 West Commercial Blvd – Family Dollar

On June 17, a female exited the store with a basket full of items valued at $50.

Theft – all other

7700 block of Southampton Terrace

On June 13, the victim advised that several pieces of jewelry valued at approximately $65,000 were stolen from her bedroom dresser drawers, possibly by her cleaning lady.

8100 block of NW 61st Street

On June 13, the victim reported that sometime between June 6th and June 10th while the vehicle owner was out of the country, an unknown suspect removed the tag from his vehicle in the parking lot where he lives.

5745 North University Drive

On June 16, the victim placed some shopping bags containing items purchased at Ross on a cash register at the front of the Dollar Tree Store. When she returned, the bags were gone.

Information

6700 block of NW 58th Court. The Greens Condos

On June 12, the complainant stated she had complained that the landscaping and that the condo looked like a cemetery, and the association president and bookkeeper both told her that they were going to put her in it.

Counterfeiting

5401 West Commercial Blvd

On June 12, the subject was stopped with a counterfeit temporary tag and registration. The subject was arrested and taken to Broward County Jail.

Criminal Mischief

5900 block of NW 55th Lane

On June 12, the victim came over to work on his vacant apartment and found his back sliding glass door smashed out. It is unknown if anyone went inside because the apartment is vacant and under construction.

Found Property

4500 block of Rock Island Rd

On June 12, a bundle of checks was found by a canal in the area. No victims were listed.

Lost Property

3873 West Commercial Blvd – Extended Stay Hotel

Police responded to a room on the first floor of the hotel in reference to the report of a missing firearm.
