Through our joint effort with the Broward Sheriff’s Office to share updates to residents, this is a summary of crimes that occurred in Tamarac through May 7.
Animal Bite
7893 Nw 70th Ave. Heathgate/Sunflower
On May 5, Complainant advised her dog was bit by another dog.
Auto Theft
2312 Nw 54th St. Tamarac Lakes
Between April 30 and May 1, the vehicle was stolen from the victim’s carport. The vehicle has a New York tag. The victim was unable to provide the tag number or VIN number for the vehicle.
5307 Gate Lake Rd. Villas at the Gate
Between May 1 and May 2, BSO responded out to document an auto theft. During the investigation the owner was able to retrieve his vehicle.
4116 Lakeside Dr. Lakeside
Between May 3 and May 4, victim left his 2010 Gray Toyota Corolla FL running outside his residence at approximately 11:00 p.m. on May 3rd, At approximately 1:00 a.m. he realized the vehicle was no longer outside the residence.
Burglary Conveyance
5213 N Sr 7. Tamarac Square Plaza
ON May 2, female caller reported overnight burglary conveyance.
4517 Treehouse Ln, Arbor Keys
Between April 1 and April 2, female caller reported vehicle burglarized overnight
8330 Sands Point Blvd. Sands Point
On May 4, someone stole cash, jewelry, and personal papers from the victim’s 2010 Toyota. No signs of forced entry. A witness in the complex observed several juveniles pulling on door handles around 5:00 – 5:15 a.m.
5604 NW 48th Way
On May 5, unknown suspect(s) opened the front drivers side door which was not locked and opened glove box. No items were taken
3012 NW 46th St. Tamarac Lakes South
On May 5, two unknown suspects burglarized three unlocked vehicles removing misc property
5001 N Sr 7. Shell Gas Station
On May 5, the victim left his window lowered on his vehicle and an unknown subject took the duffel bag off of the rear seat, without the victim’s knowledge or permission
Criminal Mischief
6022 Woodlands Blvd. St Moritz
Between May 4 and May 5, both victims advised of their vehicles being damaged by an unknown person(s) while parked in the parking lot of their residence.
Information
6070 NW 54th Av.
On May 4, complainant said she keeps getting billed by the Turnpike Authority for a temporary tag she destroyed and threw away last December.
8399 N University Dr, Renaissance Charter School
Between May 2 and May 3, documented a threatening email sent to another teacher. (This e-mail was only directed to the teacher, who did not feel threatened).
5760 NW 60th Ave. Woodlands Meadow
On May 3, the caller believes that an ex-coworker sent a text message after they had an argument and both got fired. The text told her she messed with the wrong person, that it wasn’t over and to watch her back.
Fire
7000 N University Dr,
On May 1, victim reported that her work vehicle began to smoke from the engine compartment then caught on fire. No injuries. Tamarac FR extinguished the flames and vehicle was towed.
Fraud – Impersonation
7515 N Pine Island Rd, BSO
On April 9 and reported on May 3, an unknown person(s) fraudulently opened an Ikea Visa and charged $4,625.
Lost Property
5755 N University Dr. ROSS
On May 2, victim stated that she is unsure where she might have lost her brown Michael Kors wallet. Video surveillance was reviewed at the store and it was undetermined if she had her wallet with her at the time.
Fraud All-other
5825 N University Dr. Citibank
On April 11 and reported May 1, an unknown suspect cashed a fraudulent check from the victim’s business checking account for $4,200.
Robbery
5900 Rock Island Rd. Bank of America
On May 3, BSO responded in reference to a robbery. The victim stated that two black males approached him with a firearm and stole money. They also took his phone and wallet. Suspects fled scene upon arrival.
8025 Fairview Dr. Versailles Gardens Condominiums
Between April 28 and April 28, BSO met with victim who was robbed of his shoes by a potential customer that he met on an app called Offer Up.
Theft From Building
5602 White Cedar Ln. The Woodlands
Between April 11 and May 1, known suspects stole TV and credit card from above residence.
Theft – Retail / Shoplifting
3915 W Commercial Blvd. CVS
On May 1, Ouron electronic therapy pain relief and blood pressure monitor stolen.
6401 W Commercial Blvd,. Walgreen’s
On May 1, BSO responded to in reference to a retail theft. Two boxes of Nicotine gum were stolen totaling $123.98.
6900 N University Dr. CVS
On May 2, CVS Manager reported two black females stealing $518.79 from the personal care isle. The suspects are seen on video, but not the theft. Left the area in a White Chevy mid-size car.
3915 W Commercial Blvd. CVS
On May 4, two unknown subjects exited all points of sale with merchandise. Subject were last seen headed in a northbound direction in a silver 4dr sedan.
7050 N University Dr, Aldi Supermarket
On May 5, BSO responded in reference to a delayed theft and recovery of two cases of shrimp.
Suspicious Incident
3999 W Commercial Blvd/N Sr 7. Shell Gas Station
On May 2, , BSO reported an unknown black male at the gas pump with an unknown device that was making electronic sounds and thought the male was possibly stealing credit card information with a skimmer.
Theft – Motor Vehicle Parts
7514 NW 67th Ave.
On May 3, stolen license plate & decal victim advised of her Florida license plate and decal were stolen from her vehicle while it was parked at her residence.
5305 Gate Lake Rd. Villas at the Gate
Between May 3 and May 4, resident wished to report the theft of his auto tag.
Theft – all other.
5407 Nw 50th Terr. Construction Trade Partners
Between May 2, and May 3 and unknown person(s) stole 980 pounds of rebar from a construction site for an approximate loss of $600.
7201 N University Dr, University Hospital
On May 5, victim reported suspect pretended to be a hospital A/C mechanic. She advised the suspect had her test and reach out to an air vent while her back was turned to the suspect. Ms. Alvarado advised her gold wallet was sitting on the A/C unit at the time.
6193 Rock Island Rd. The Gate
Between April 23 and May 2, unknown subject removed the victim’s decal off their license plate.

Haughton, Cyan, 18, arrested on charges of Burglary-conveyance Unoccupied/unarmed at 8161 N University Dr, Tamarac, on 05/01/2019.
Carter, Desiree Michelle, 28, arrested on charges of Warrant – D/l Expired > 6 Months – Bond $250.00, at 5001 W Commercial Blvd, Tamarac, on 05/02/2019.
Petit Dos, Brian, 26 arrested on charges of Vehicle Theft-grand Theft Of Motor Vehicle at 4121 W Commercial Blvd, Tamarac, on 05/02/2019.
Johnson, Mavis Camille, 52, arrested on charges of Larcany-petit Theft 2nd Degree 3rd Subsq Offense at 7707 W Commercial Blvd, Tamarac, on 05/03/2019.
Hoffman, Mitchell Colin, 50, arrested on charges of Warrant – Stand In Rd/ Solict Ride/business at 7501 W Commercial Blvd, Tamarac, on 05/04/2019.
Mckennie Jr, Glenn Edward, 33, arrested on charges of Larcary-petit Theft 2nd Degree 1st Offense at 4121 W Commercial Blvd, Tamarac, on 05/04/2019.
Hyppolite, Marco, 33, arrested on charges of Aggrevated Battery Cause Bodily Harm/disability-domestic at 8060 Fairview Dr, Tamarac, on 05/05/2019.
