Tamarac Crime Update Through September 16

Through our joint effort with the Broward Sheriff’s Office to share updates to residents, this is a summary of crimes that occurred in Tamarac through September 16.  Names of those not arrested have been redacted.

Auto Theft

6800 block of NW 69th Court

On September 15, a deputy responded to the location about an auto theft.

6000 block of NW 71st Ave

On September 15, the victim reported an unknown suspect(s) stole his GMC Savanna after getting the keys from an unlocked BMW, which was burglarized.

Battery

9000 block of Plymouth Place – Hampton Hills

On September 16, a mom and her adult daughter got into a verbal argument, which became physical. The primary aggressor could not be determined.
 Neither parties suffered any visible or physical injuries.

Burglary Conveyance

6701 North University Drive – Concord Village

On September 8, an attempted unoccupied burglary conveyance 
to a black Dodge Ram took place. Witnesses described three black males that left on foot.

6100 block of Rock Island Road

On September 10, deputies responded to a delayed burglary conveyance where a $900 yellow generator was taken from a White Yukon GMC.

7700 block of NW 79th Street

On September 11, the victim reported his vehicle had cash stolen from the center console of the vehicle. There was no sign of forced entry. Latent prints were obtained, and an area canvass was conducted.

8100 block of NW 100th Terrace – Westwood

On September 11, the victim reported she had a Michael Kors purse, a pair of diamond earrings, and three blank SunTrust checks taken from an unlocked vehicle overnight. An Oynx Bluetooth speaker was taken from an additional unlocked vehicle at the residence.

- Hampton Inn and Suites

On September 11, the victim reported his white Toyota Rav4 passenger window was smashed, and loose coins were taken from the middle console.

4800 block of NW 55th Place – Manor Parc

On September 12, the victim had his unlocked vehicle broken into and items stolen.

5800 block of Swordfish Court

On September 12, the victim reported her wallet containing her ID, and miscellaneous cards were taken from her unlocked vehicle. No latent prints were lifted due to heavy rain. A canvas of the area determined there were no cameras.

6000 block of NW 71 Ave

On September 15, the victim reported an unknown suspect entered his unlocked BMW overnight and stole keys to a GMC Savanna from the center console. The GMC Savanna was parked across the street.

6860 Southgate Blvd – Unlimited Pools

On September 16, the victim’s truck was broken into, and a concrete hammer was taken.



Fire

6100 block of Pine Tree Lane

On September 15, deputies responded to an unoccupied residential fire. Fire Rescue responded and conducted the investigation.

Information

8661 West McNab Road – Colony West Shopping Plaza

On September 15, the victim reported a broken window to the front of the business. Someone attempted to secure the broken window with plywood and a refrigerator from the interior. There was no prior history at this address.

7515 North Pine Island Road – Broward Sheriff’s Office

On September 15, a citizen went to the district office to surrender his concealed weapon license due to a pending temporary restraining order. He stated that he no longer had any weapons in his possession.

Property damage

6100 block of Orchard Tree Lane – The Woodlands Country Club

On September 12, a vehicle was hit by a golf ball and caused a small dent on the bottom of the driver’s door.

Recovered auto

4800 West Commercial Blvd

On September 15, a silver Kia Sorento was reported stolen out of Boynton Beach and was located unoccupied on the 4800 block, eastbound on West Commerical Blvd. PBSO was notified, and the vehicle was towed to Westway towing for PBSO.

Theft – all other

9901 NW 77th Street – Sunbelt Rentals

On September 12, the reportee advised an unknown male in a smart car took a rented Honda Generator while he was on another side of the field at Tamarac Sports Park.

Theft – motor vehicle parts

7815 NW 71st court

On September 15, a known suspect claimed to have stolen the front bumper and license plate because the victim would not do a favor for him.

Theft – retail, shoplifting

7500 NW 57th Street – Advance Auto Parts

On September 12, an unidentified male entered the store and stole a wrench.

Arrestable Traffic Violations

Pleasant Hill Lane – The Commons

On September 12, the defendant admitted post-Miranda that he struck a bicyclist as he was attempting to make a right turn. The defendant stated that he got scared and left the area.

Trespassing

5301 North SR 7 – Commercial Plaza

On September 12, the defendant was found trespassing at in Commercial Plaza after being trespass warned numerous times, most recently on 8/22. He was taken into custody and transported to BSO main jail.

Weapon Offense (Felony)

2500 block of NW 54th Street – Tamarac Lakes North

On September 13, an unknown subject threw a brick through the victim’s bedroom window. An area canvas located two possible video doorbell systems. There was no suspect information at the time.
