Tamarac Crime Update Through September 23

Through our joint effort with the Broward Sheriff’s Office to share updates to residents, this is a summary of crimes that occurred in Tamarac through September 23.  Names of those not arrested have been redacted.

Auto theft

6106 NW 73 Ave – Hertz

On September 19, deputies responded to document vehicle stolen between 9/16 and 9/19.



Aggravated Assault

4121 West Commercial Blvd – Sunshine Plaza Publix

On September 20, a female suspect returned to the store after trespassing earlier in the day. When the manager confronted her, she armed herself with a heavy full wine bottle and threatened to hit the manager with it. She threw two bottles towards his direction and left the area. She was identified through a showup and video surveillance and placed in custody for aggravated assault (felony), trespassing, and criminal mischief.



Burglary Residence

8100 block of NW 100 Drive – Spring Lake Villa Community

On September 17, the victim reported that an unknown subject(s) entered the residence. There were no signs of forced entry made. The front door was possibly left unlocked. Two laptops, an iPad and a watch, were stolen, for an approximate loss of $1,980. No video surveillance or witnesses were available.



Burglary Conveyance

8100 block of NW 67 Ave – Sunflower/Heathgate

On September 17, the victim reported an unknown subject(s) gained access to his vehicle and removed a Ruger LC9s black handgun from the center console.

7200 block of Papaya Way – Lake Colony

On September 17, the victim reported an unknown subject(s) removed a .22 cal handgun from the center console of his vehicle.

7400 block of NW 85 Court

On September 17, the victim reported a burglary to his Cadillac during the early morning hours. The suspect(s) stole a Gucci wallet containing $100 along with a few other documents from the center console. The crime scene was processed.

Criminal Mischief

6100 block of Woodlands Blvd

On September 17, the complainant reported that her mailbox was broken entirely/damaged on September 15.

5201 N SR 7 – Trapeze parking lot

On September 20, the victim reported her rear passenger window was smashed. The interior of her vehicle did not appear to have been ransacked or burglarized.

Information

8700 block of NW 75 Court – Woodmont Greens

On September 19, an intoxicated grandmother fell while she was supposed to be watching her 12-year-old grandson, who called 911. Child Protective Services was notified, and the child was released to a family friend.

Property damage

5200 block of Areca Palm Circle – The Woodlands

On September 17, deputies met with the caller who advised his sliding glass door to the family room was smashed/broken, but it is unknown how it occurred.

Theft – bicycle

5100 block of NW 52 Street

On September 17, the resident wished to report the theft of his bicycle that occurred the previous week.

Theft – all other

6200 John Horan Terrace – St Malachy Parish Center

On September 17, the parish reported an unknown person(s) had stolen the statue of Malachy from its stand overnight.

10151 NW 67 Street – IQ Formulations

On September 17, the victim reported the Former Director of Distributions refused to return dietary supplements (or the monetary value) belonging to the company. Between April and July, he opened his own business in Ontario, Canada, and displayed the stolen products in his store and on his social media page. He cut all ties to the US and moved permanently to Canada.

4017 West Commercial Blvd – 24 Hour Fitness

On September 21, the complainant advised an unknown suspect(s) removed his wallet from his unlocked locker at 24 Hour Fitness.
