Tamarac Crime Update: Truck Engulfed in Flames and 50K Fraud Case

Through our joint effort with the Broward Sheriff’s Office to share updates to residents is a summary of Tamarac crime and arrests through December 6, 2021.

Battery 

NW 78th Pl.

An 18-year-old female was the victim of domestic battery on 12/04/2021.

W. Commercial Blvd

A 26-year old female was the victim of a Battery on 12/04/2021. Tot. Est. Loss: $1.

Burglary Conveyance

Pine Tree Ln.

A 46-year-old male was the victim of Burglary Conveyance on 12/01/2021. Tot. Est. Loss: $1,105.

Fire

NW 80th Ct.

On 12/02/2021, the reporting person heard a loud “boom” and saw his Ford F-150 engulfed in flames. No injuries.

Fraud

NW 80th St.

On 12/02/2021, an unknown person obtained a payday loan in the name of the 54-year-old male victim. Tot. Est. Loss: $1,200.

W. Commercial Blvd.

On 12/03/2021, a 43-year-old male was the victim of Fraud. The victim’s trust account was compromised. Tot. Est. Loss: $50,880.

Suspicious Incident

NW 48th Ave.

On 12/4/2021, deputies responded about an incident that occurred on Nov. 24. A dark-colored SUV drove to the front of the reporter’s residence and stopped. As he walked out of his home, he observed a young male walking towards his vehicle attempting to conceal himself. When he called out to him, the unknown subject ran and entered the dark-colored SUV. He wanted to report the incident now just in case burglaries were reported later that same day. No entry was made to the reporting person’s vehicle.

Arrests

Story, Nicholas Kent, 38, was arrested on charges of warrant-burglary dwelling on Lagos De Campo Blvd on 12/01/2021.

Hawkins, Caleb, 20, was arrested on charges of Battery on NW 78th Pl on 12/04/2021.
