Tamarac Crime Update: USPS Mail Carrier Robbed at Gunpoint

Through our joint effort with the Broward Sheriff’s Office to share updates with residents, this is a summary of Tamarac crime and arrests through Nov. 21, 2022.

Burglary Residence

Island Club Dr.

A male was the victim of a Burglary Residence on 11/17/2022. The victim said his residence was burglarized. BSO processed the crime scene. Tot. Est. Loss: $1,460.

Fraud

Nw 44th St.

On 11/15/2022, a female victim said she paid a contractor to fix her residence, but the work was never done. Tot. Est. Loss: $1,200.

Robbery

NW 64th Ct. 

A U.S. Post Office mail carrier was the victim of Robbery on 11/16/2022. Deputies met with the victim, who said an unknown male pointed a black semi-automatic handgun at him, demanding the keys to mailboxes. Tot. Est. Loss: $500.

Robbery

W. Commercial Blvd.

A person was the victim of a Robbery With a Weapon on 11/15/2022. The robbery occurred, and the subject was gone upon law enforcement’s arrival. The victim did not want to press charges and signed a waiver of prosecution by the BSO robbery detective. Est. Loss: $4.

Robbery By Sudden Snatching

Catalina Cir.

A male was the victim of Robbery By Sudden Snatching on 11/20/2022. A person stole a company laptop and fled. Tot. Est. Loss: $3,000.

N. University Dr,

On 11/18/2022, a female requested assistance retrieving her Apple MacBook computer pinging at the location.

Theft

 NW 88th Ter.

A person was the victim of Theft – All Other on 11/16/2022. Theft of delivered packages off the front doorstep. Tot. Est. Loss: $125.

Arrests

Johnson, Christopher Jack, 34, was arrested on charges of Violating Injunction – Unlawful Threat, Word Or Act of Violence on Hiatus Rd on 11/18/2022.

Schrameck, Dean Andrew, 36, was arrested on charges of Violation of Probation on Robbery charge (no bond) on N State Road 7 on 11/15/2022.
