Through our joint effort with the Broward Sheriff’s Office to share updates with the residents, this is a summary of Tamarac crime events through January 15, 2024.
Battery
A victim of Battery on 01/09/2024. The total estimated loss was $11,250.
The City Of Tamarac was the victim of Criminal Mischief on NW 77 Street on 01/09/2024. Unknown suspect(s) vandalized the skate park, causing approximately $1,000 in damage.
Fraud
A victim of Fraud – All Other on 01/09/2024. The total estimated loss was $15,000. The victim was scammed out of $15,000 he sent to a Bitcoin address.
A victim of Fraud – Credit Card / ATM on 01/13/2024. The total estimated loss was $10,711. Credit fraud for a TD Bank account was reported.
Theft
A victim of Theft – Motor Vehicle Parts on 01/12/2024. The total estimated loss was $3,500. An unknown suspect stole the rims and tires off the victim’s vehicle while sleeping.
Walgreens was the victim of Theft – Retail / Shoplifting on 01/11/2024. The total estimated loss was $783.
Cvs was the victim of Theft – Retail / Shoplifting on 01/10/2024. The total estimated loss was $643. The reporting person advised that three females and one male stole merchandise from the store.
Enterprise Rent-a-Car was the victim of Auto Theft on 01/09/2024. A known subject used the reporting party`s Enterprise to rent a 2023 Nissan Altima and then failed to return the vehicle.
A victim of Auto Theft on 01/12/2024. A 2020 black Toyota Tacoma was stolen.
Citi Group was the victim of Theft – All Other on 01/14/2024. Unknown suspect(s) impersonated bank officials and obtained the victim’s private PIN, ID, and password during the scam phone call. The victim was tricked into placing her debit card into her mailbox, where the scammers had taken it. The victim’s bank accounts were drained of all funds, and several credit card transactions were made using her banking information.
Assault
A victim of Aggravated Assault on 01/09/2024. The victim states he was confronted by three men, one of whom had a firearm with him, made threats, and damaged goods in the victim’s business.
A victim of Aggravated Assault on 01/13/2024. 3 Unknown juveniles entered a CVS pharmacy, and one juvenile pulled out a firearm during a verbal altercation with an employee.
Kidnapping
A victim of Kidnapping / False Imprisonment on 01/12/2024.
Information on 01/12/2024. The complainant alleges she was kidnapped in Davie at 10:15 a.m. and sexually battered and dropped off in Tamarac. Video evidence shows that she was in Davie at 3 p.m. during a domestic verbal call at her residence. She then advised that she was not kidnapped and sexually battered.
Arrests
Ramsey, Mark, Anthony, 49, was arrested on a charge of Touch Or Strike/Battery/Domestic Violence on 01/09/2024.
Reyes, Taina, 39, was arrested on a charge of Larceny-Grand Theft of 10k Less Than $20k on 01/10/2024.
Thompson, Shamani, Dylan, 28, was arrested on a charge of Robbery With Firearm on 01/11/2024.
Sleem, Jourdan, Iser, 34, was arrested on a charge of Kidnap-False Imprisonment-Adult on 01/12/2024.
