The City of Tamarac is reaching out to parents and families of children with special needs and disabilities to find out if there is sufficient interest in a support group—if so, they plan on starting one as part of their social services program.
They’re putting the word out, to the families of children on the autism spectrum, with ADHD, with Asperger’s, Down Syndrome, learning disabilities, anxiety, dyslexia, and communication disorders.
Parents and caregivers of special needs children can then obtain resources, receive ongoing support, vent, share information and ideas, learn positive coping skills, gain perspective, relieve loneliness, and build friendships.
To measure interest, they’re putting anyone who reaches out on a list. If interested in participating, call 954-597-3642. Sorry, no online signups.
