Tamarac Weekly Crime Update February 18

Through our joint effort with the Broward Sheriff’s Office to share updates to residents, this is a summary of crimes that occurred in Tamarac from February 10 through February 18.

Fraud

4100 block of West Commercial Blvd

Between February 11 at 10:00 p.m. and February 12 at 2:00 a.m., an unknown suspect(s) fraudulently withdrew money from the victims’ account.

6401 West Commercial Blvd – Walgreens

On February 10 at 2:22 p.m., the complainant advised of fraudulent activity on two of her bank cards.

Robbery/carjacking

7600 block of NW 67th Ave

On February 14 at 11:30 p.m., the victim was lying down in his car when two subjects wearing dark hoodies and bandannas approached him. One subject held a gun to his head, asked where his money was, and proceeded to steal the vehicle after a brief struggle.

Criminal mischief

4900 block of NW 54th Street

On February 12 at 7:47 a.m., an unknown suspect(s) used an unknown object to scratch a vehicle’s front and passenger side doors.

4969 North State Road 7 – Eglie Chretienne Des Ambassad Church

On February 17 between 7:00 p.m. and 9:45 p.m., an unknown suspect vandalized five vehicles.

Burglary Conveyance

8800 block of North Isles Circle

Between February 11 at 10:00 p.m. and February 12 at 7:25 a.m., the victim’s vehicle was burglarized and a handgun was taken from the unlocked vehicle.

7000 block of NW 99th Avenue
- Westwood 21 Community and Nob Hill Landings Condominium

Between February 12 at 10:00 p.m. and February 13 at 5:36 a.m., a total of eight vehicles were burglarized overnight. They primarily forced entry with a punching tool focusing on bags that could be seen from the exterior. Credit cards stolen were used a short time later at gas stations in Tamarac and Fort Lauderdale.

7100 block of NW 97th Ave

Between February 12 at 10:18 p.m. and February 13 at 8:18 a.m., an unknown suspect smashed the driver side front window of the victim vehicle and removed a backpack and sweater.

9700 block of NW 70th Street

Between February 12 at 10:27 a.m. and February 13 at 8:27 a.m., an unknown suspect smashed the passenger side front window of the victim’s vehicle and stole her purse.

4500 block of NW 48th Terrace

On February 14 at 6:54 a.m., the victim reported that an unknown suspect(s) broke into her vehicle at an unknown hour and removed belongings at an approximate loss of $3,081.

2800 block of West Prospect Road

Between February 13 at 5:00 p.m. and February 14 at 10:01 a.m., an unknown person(s) entered the victim’s unlocked vehicle and stole his Glock 19.

Information

7500 block of NW 88th Circle

On February 12 at 2:00 p.m., the complainant called BSO Tamarac District to make an incident report concerning three individuals confronting him and one pulling out a knife on February 9.

Drugs/Narcotics Offense

6200 block of Nob Hill Road

On February 12 at 2:17 p.m., a business called to report that a package of narcotics was mistakenly delivered to their address.

Auto Theft

7545 block of Banyan Way – Woodmont

Between February 12 at 7:00 p.m. and February 13 at 6:45 a.m., an unknown subject(s) removed a vehicle from the driveway of the residence.

4400 block of Treehouse Lane

Between February 13 at 9:30 p.m. and February 14 at 7:55 a.m., the victim reported his motorcycle stolen by an unknown suspect(s).

Theft/Retail Shoplifting

4197 West Commercial Blvd – Marshalls

On February 12 at 1:58 p.m., the suspect shoplifter was caught with $191.50 worth of merchandise.

5881 North University Drive – Publix

On February 12 at 2:35 p.m., the suspect shoplifter was arrested for petit theft.

3150 West Commercial Blvd – Family Dollar

On February 17 at 5:52 p.m., an unknown subject walked into the store and stole several items valued at $53.50.

4121 West Commercial Blvd – Publix

On February 18 at 5:32 p.m., a Publix employee conducted multiple fraudulent returns and kept the currency.

Theft

7130 North University Drive – Signature Pizza

On February 2 at 3:30 p.m., an unknown suspect(s) stole the victim’s wallet from his table while he was eating.

Theft – Motor Vehicle Parts

7800 block of Catalina circle – Catalina Lakes

Between February 13 at 8:00 p.m. and February 14 at 4:45 a.m., all four rims and tires were stolen from a vehicle during area canvas.

Arrests

On February 12, Isaiah Lamar Thomas, 23, on charges of Larceny/grand theft over $300 but less than $5,000 at 5041 North State Road 7.

On February 12, Davion Anthony Ridge, 33, on charges of resisting an officer/obstructing without violence at 5881 North University Drive.

On February 12, Shani Ann-marie Davidson, 34, on charges of Larceny/petit theft at 5881 North University Drive.

On February 12, Sadeke Anthony Brown, 33, on charges of Warrant/Battery at 3800 West Commercial Blvd.

On February 14, Lori Ann Bernstein, 51, on charges of Battery on a person 65 Years or older at the 10500 block of East Clairmont Circle.

On February 14, Yaribel Ventura Alcantara, 23, on charges of Touch Or Strike/battery/domestic violence at the 7800 block of South Colony Circle.

On February 16, Shalitha Renee Schexnayder, 39, on charges of money laundering at 6100 North University Drive.

On February 17, Edwidge Adhemar, 39, on charges of Larceny/grand theft of a fire extinguisher at the 8600 block of NW 61st Street.

On February 18, Daniel Valdez, 26, on charges of property damage/criminal mischief over $200 but under $1000 at the 7900 block of NW 68th Ave.
