Tamarac Weekly Crime Update February 25

Through our joint effort with the Broward Sheriff’s Office to share updates to residents, this is a summary of crimes that occurred in Tamarac from February 18 through February 25.

Fire

5900 block of Manchester Way

On February 18 at 8:02 a.m., a residential fire was started from clothes dryer. There were no injuries or smoke damage.

Aggravated Battery

7800 block of NW 71st Court

On February 18 at 9:25 p.m., two adult males were involved in a physical altercation, during which the suspect stabbed the victim with a knife. The victim was transported to University Hospital by witnesses.

3873 West Commercial Blvd – Extended Stay Hotel

On February 21 at 6:40 p.m., an unknown female bit, punched, and threatened to kill the victim.



Burglary Residence

9300 block of Lime Bay Blvd

Between February 15 at 9:00 a.m. and February 19 at 3:00 p.m., police met with the listed victim who reported that an unknown suspect(s) attempted to make entry into her apartment. Pry marks were left on the door jam.

8000 block of Buttonwood Circle

On February 22, between at 5:00 p.m. and 6:26 p.m., a residential burglary took place.

9200 block of NW 81st Court

Between February 22 at 5:00 p.m. and February 24 at 9:00 a.m., an unknown person(s) entered the victim’s home and stole jewelry and liquor.

Suspicious Incident

8300 block of NW 80th Place

On February 22, between 1:50 p.m. and 1:59 p.m., an 11-year-old male was riding his bicycle in the neighborhood and saw a man walking down the street with a knife in his hand. When the juvenile saw him, the man dropped the knife on the ground and ran out of the community, going in an unknown direction. No domestic issues were reported in the area and residences in the immediate area were checked for any possible burglaries, but none were located. The knife was placed into safekeeping.

Burglary Conveyance

7900 block of North Colony Circle 
- Versailles Gardens

On February 20 between 1:30 a.m. and 9:00 a.m., an unknown subject entered the victim’s unlocked vehicle and stole his dash camera.

9000 block of Lime Bay Blvd

Between February 20 at 12:00 p.m. and February 22 at 11:17 a.m., an unknown suspect broke the front driver side door where they ransacked the car, and stole approximately $8 in loose change and five keys.

8000 block of NW 83rd Way

Between February 22 at 10:00 p.m. and February 23 at 8:00 a.m., two unlocked vehicles were gone through, but nothing was taken.

8101 Southgate Blvd – Gary B. Jones Park for People and Pups

On February 23 at 4:34 p.m., an unknown suspect burglarized two vehicles and took owner’s purses.

7650 North University Drive – Assisted living facility

On February 23 at 4:35 p.m., the victim advised that the rear passenger window of her vehicle was smashed while she was working inside.

Robbery

5600 Nob Hill Road – 7 Eleven.

Between February 15 at 10:00 p.m. and February 16 at 8:00 a.m., an unknown homeless subject reached into the victim’s vehicle and snatched the victim’s wallet from his hand. The subject stole a TD bank debit card, where several fraudulent transactions were made. The victim did not report the crime due to fear and did not cancel the debit card, thinking that the subject would not know what to do with the card.

4500 block of Treehouse Lane

On February 19 at 1:05 a.m., police made contact with a caller who advised she observed a male masturbating on the sidewalk.

Theft/Retail Shoplifting

6401 W Commercial Blvd – Walgreens

On February 20 at 9:49 a.m., the pharmacy department was threatened by a customer due to his or her medication not being filled.

4121 West Commercial Blvd – Publix

On February 22 at 8:12 p.m., the defendant stole items from Publix walking past all points of sale.

Theft – Other

7001 West Commercial Blvd – TD Bank

On February 21, the victim reported that an unknown person had withdrawn $900 dollars from the victim’s account via the teller at TD Bank.

4021 West Commercial Blvd. – Old Time Pottery

On February 22 at 8:00 p.m., an unknown male possibly stole the victim(s) iPhone 6 and ID.

Arrests

On February 19, Sophia Elizabeth Pringle, 52, on charges of larceny/grand theft over $300 but less than $5,000 at the 9500 block of Weldon Circle.

On February 19, Matthew John Blakney, 32, on charges of touch or strike/battery/domestic violence and resisting an officer-obstructing without violence at the 4900 block of NW 58th Street.

On February 19, Larry Ceballos, 43, and Tatiana Gallego, 31, on charges of contributing to the delinquency of a minor-parent failing to require school attendance at the 5700 block of NW 94th Ave.

On February 20, Sean Timothy May, 27, on charges of touch or strike/battery/dating violence at the 7500 block of NW 80th Ave.

On February 21, Raphael L. Sucre, 64, on charges of touch or strike/battery/domestic violence at the 9600 block of West Mcnab Road.

On February 21, Anthony Aidone, 49, on charges of burglary with assault or battery at the 5800 block of NW 64th Ave.

On February 21, Carlos Alberto Jimenez, 33, on charges of possession of heroin with the intent to sell, manufacture or deliver at the 6600 block of NW 84th Street.

On February 22, Jessica Lynn Wilson, 23, on charges of larceny/petit theft 2nd degree 1st offense at Publix at 4121 West Commercial Blvd.

On February 24, Jason Jaime Murcia, 37, on charges of felony battery/domestic violence at the 5900 block of NW 57th Court.

On February 25, Douglas Clinton Gorman, 44, on charges of warrant – grand theft auto at the 6400 block of North University Drive.

On February 25, Frantz Dominique Pauyo, 44, was arrested on charges of battery causing bodily harm/dating violence at the 5400 block of North State Road 7.
