Through our joint effort with the Broward Sheriff’s Office to share updates to residents, this is a summary of crimes committed in Tamarac from December 28, 2018 through January 4, 2019.
Criminal mischief
7005 NW 57th St – Advanced Auto Parts
On December 31, between 6:25 p.m. and 7:15 p.m., an angry customer kicked the front door of the business, causing the glass on the front door to crack. The subject immediately fled the scene in a vehicle driven by another subject.
Burglary conveyance
8500 block of Jade Drive
Between 5:00 p.m. on December 28, and 5:00 a.m. on December 29, the victim noticed his Ford Mustang was burglarized. He advised that his Glock 23 was missing from the center console. Two latent prints were pulled from the vehicle and sent for processing.
2900 block of NW 48th Street
Between 10:00 p.m. on December 30, and 4:15 a.m. on December 31, a 2008 Mitsubishi Outlander was burglarized by suspect(s) smashing the front passenger side window and taking $140 and a bag worth $50.
7439 NW 57th Street – Daybreak Assembly Church
On January 1 between 1:28 a.m. and 2:28 a.m., a firearm and an extra magazine were stolen from the center console of the victim’s vehicle, which was left unlocked.
8101 Southgate Blvd – Gary B Jones Park for People and Pups
On January 2 at 2:23 p.m., an unknown suspect broke the window on the victim’s vehicle and stole her purse.
5200 block of Gate Lake Road
At 2:26 a.m. on December 30, multiple vehicles were burglarized in the neighborhood. Nothing was reportedly stolen.
Auto theft
8060 block of North Colony Circle
On December 31, an officer responded in reference to a stolen vehicle. The victim advised that some time between 1:00 a.m. and 7:30 a.m., an unknown person(s) took her 2016 Honda Civic. She advised that the key was possibly in the vehicle and the vehicle was unlocked.
5900 block of NW 71st Avenue
Between 10:30 p.m. on January 3 and 12:27 a.m. on January 4, the victim’s Mercedes was stolen by unknown means.
Burglary residence
5900 block of Woodlands Blvd
On December 30 at 2:52 a.m., a suspect stopped in the area of a recent burglary and had burglary tools in his possession. Post Miranda, the suspect admitted to being the lookout while other suspects made entry into the vehicles.
6900 block of NW 78 Street
On December 30, an officer responded in reference to a delayed burglary of a residence. The officer met with the homeowner, who advised that someone came into her garage and took approximately $250 worth of tools, including an electric pole chainsaw. None of the tools had serial numbers. The area was canvassed and the scene was processed for latent prints with negative results.
Counterfeiting
3914 W Commercial Blvd – Walgreens
Attempted use of counterfeit $50 dollar bills. The Secret Service was notified.
Arrests
On December 30, Timothy Lynn Odom, 51, was arrested on charges of warrant/sell/solicit without a permit.
On December 30, Ruperto Guerra Rodriguez, 43, was arrested on charges of aggravated assault/weapon with a deadly weapon without intent to kill.
On December 31, Nicole J. Shellard, 40, was arrested on charges of warrant/third degree grand theft.
On January 1, David Willner, 28, was arrested on charges of aggravated battery on a pregnant person.
On January 1, Zayra Ortiz, 34, was arrested on charges of battery causing bodily harm.
On January 1, Sharone Adoni, 26, was arrested on DUI charges.
On January 2, Patrick Darvince Samedi, 20, was arrested on charges of violation of probation or community control.
On January 3, Kevin Antoine Brown, 38, was arrested on charges of driving with a suspended license.
