Tamarac Weekly Crime Update March 25

Through our joint effort with the Broward Sheriff’s Office to share updates to residents, this is a summary of crimes that occurred in Tamarac from March 19 through March 25.

Theft

3101 W Commercial Blvd – 7 Eleven

On March 19 at 5:23 a.m., the offender stole several store items and fled on a bicycle before he was apprehended. The incident was witnessed by store staff and captured on the store surveillance video.

8000 block of NW 96th Terrace

On March 20 between 12:30 a.m. and 6:20 a.m., the listed victim reported that the rear tires and rims were stolen off her vehicle overnight.

4900 block of East Sabal Palm Blvd

On March 20 at 6:37 a.m., the victim parked his vehicle in front of his residence around 10:30 p.m. and came outside at 6:30 a.m. to find his vehicle missing.

5500 block of NW 31st Ave

Between March 20 at 10:30 p.m. and March 21 at 9:26 a.m., the tires and rims were stolen off the victim’s vehicle.

5231 North State Road 7 – La Ranchera Meat Market #2

On March 22 between 9:50 a.m. and 10:00 a.m., the victim reported that two unknown female juveniles came into the store and stole two packs of rice for an approximate loss of $4.58.

8000 block of NW 96th Terrace (Coral Vista)

On March 21 at 5:52 p.m., two males stole a package from Amazon containing a pair of Beats headphones (Valued at $350) from the front of the victim’s apartment. The victim caught the incident on surveillance video.

5777 North University Drive – America’s Best Contacts & Eyeglasses

On March 21 between 3:20 p.m., and 4:10 p.m., the complainant advised someone stole $420 out of her purse.

Animal Bite

8200 block of NW 71st Ave

On March 24 at 1:21 p.m., three dogs attacked a small white poodle. The poodle had multiple puncture marks. The victim was bit on the hand when he separated the dogs.

Criminal Mischief

8200 block of NW 68th Ave

On March 19 at 11:58 a.m., two tires were flattened by an unknown subject.

8000 block of Sanibel Drive

Between March 20 at 10:00 p.m. and March 21 at 9:45 a.m., an unknown subject put an unknown chemical on the victim’s vehicle causing damage to the paint.

Theft Retail Shopping

4121 West Commercial Blvd – Publix

On March 19 at 3:41 p.m., the suspect was arrested and issued a notice to appear for shoplifting at Publix Supermarket.

Information

5800 block of South Bayberry Lane

On March 19 at 2:00 p.m., the complainant advised that her vehicle was damaged in what she believed to be a hit and run.

Burglary Conveyance

6800 block of Southgate Blvd

Between March 18 at 10:30 p.m. and March 19 at 6:40 a.m., an unknown subject(s) broke into a vehicle and smashed the window.

6800 block of West Commercial Blvd

On March 19 at 8:29 a.m., an unknown suspect(s) opened the passenger front door, which was unlocked, and took a backpack that was sitting on the seat.

Fraud

8225 North Pine Island Road – Prescription Depot

On March 21 at 3:06 p.m., an unknown suspect tried to use a fake prescription, then left when the owner called the police.

Arrests

On March 19, Marco Lavell Mcburrows, 39, was arrested on charges of larceny-petit theft at 7-Eleven at 3101 West Commercial Blvd.

On March 19, Tiffanie Annette Overson, 47, was arrested on charges of contributing to the delinquency of a minor by failing to require school attendance at Tamarac Elementary School.

On March 19, Carly Nicolaides, 35, was arrested on charges of theft/retail/shoplifting at Publix at 4121 West Commercial Blvd.

On March 20, Rahmyn Quentin Hester Daley, 25, was arrested on charges of abuse of a child without great bodily harm.

On March 21, David R. Garcia, 48, was arrested on charges of touch or strike/battery/domestic violence at the 7500 block of NW 73rd Ave.
