A woman was charged with DUI manslaughter after a crash in Tamarac killed a 73-year-old man.

According to the Broward Sheriff’s Office, on April 8, at approximately 8 p.m., Stephanie Pantuliano, 30, of Coral Springs was exiting the Commercial Boulevard Shoppes on NW 79th Avenue in Tamarac heading north. Her 2008 Cadillac stopped briefly at a crosswalk, then accelerated through the red light on West Commercial Boulevard into the path of oncoming traffic.  The car then struck a 2006 Scion driven by Bobby Russell, 73, of Boca Raton, who had the green light.

The crash resulted in the serious injury of Russell and subsequently, he died from his injuries.

Responding deputies noticed that Pantuliano was impaired and a blood draw was taken.  According to the Sun Sentinel, Her blood alcohol level measured .20, more than double the legal limit of .08 when it was measured about an hour after the crash. The level was .11 when tested seven hours after the crash, the Broward state attorney’s office said Friday.
