A woman was airlifted to a local hospital Tuesday night after being shot during a domestic incident in Tamarac, according to the Broward Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities received a report of a shooting in the 6000 block of North Pine Island Road shortly before 7:30 p.m., sending BSO deputies and Tamarac Fire Rescue units rushing to the scene.
Deputies arrived to find an adult female suffering from a gunshot wound, according to BSO. They gave her emergency medical care until paramedics arrived and airlifted her to an area hospital for treatment. Her age and condition have not been released.
Detectives said the shooting stemmed from a domestic incident involving people known to each other. No additional details about the circumstances or any potential arrests have been made public.
BSO’s Special Victims Unit and Crime Scene Unit responded to conduct the investigation, which remains active and ongoing, authorities said.
