Tamarac is set to welcome a new player on the Korean BBQ scene who sets out to remind guests you only live once.
YOLO Korean BBQ, soon located at 6800 North University Drive, will occupy an expansive 10,000-square-foot foothold within the University Commons plaza.
According to YOLO’s Chef, Chef Lee, YOLO, currently under construction, plans to bridge a unique blend of All-You-Can-Eat Korean BBQ with a premium la carte featuring the finest favorite proteins, including multiple variations of beef, pork, chicken, and seafood options, like shrimp and squid.
Chef Lee says YOLO’s menu will also feature Korean staples, such as bulgogi, japchae, and samgyeopsal to doenjang jjigae, and dishes screaming with kimchi jjigae-infused flavor.
Inside, YOLO Korean BBQ plans to bridge a lounge vibe with the traditional BBQ feel in a way that blends all the vibrant experiences one might experience if transported onto the streets of Seoul. In addition to the restaurant, the location will also feature two karaoke rooms where guests can enjoy post-dinner entertainment and a bottle of soju or three.
YOLO moves into the University Commons plaza, recently sold for a whopping $14 million to the real estate firm Marcus & Millichap. The plaza, situated at 6702 North University Drive, consists of retail property that spans an impressive 80,224 square feet.
Situated near the University Drive and McNab Road intersection, YOLO moves into an area well occupied by its competition, including a longtime Korean BBQ favorite, Gabose, that in past years has expanded its foothold in the Los Maderos Plaza with the addition of its bistro karaoke-style bar, Gabose Pocha.
