Free Event and Book Signing at Forest Trace for New “Advanced Style” Book

Advanced Style by Ari Seth Cohen

Advanced Style is Ari Seth Cohen’s blog-based ode to the confidence, beauty, and fashion that can only be achieved through the experience of a life lived glamorously.

It is a collection of street fashion unlike any seen before—focused on the over-60 set in the world’s most stylish locales. In fact, the cover photo of the book is the legendary Iris Apfel, the nonagenarian Palm Beach resident, famous for redecorating the White House.

Cohen started his blog inspired by his own grandmother’s unique personal style and his lifelong interest in the put-together fashion of vibrant seniors and the book was recently included in the Wall Street Journal’s list of five best style books of 2012

The style icon you refer to is actually Iris Apfel, not Irene. She, along with husband Carl started Old World Weavers, the pre-eminent textile company in the Interior Design Business. They traveled the world for many years finding weavers and mills that could produce the most lush and exotic textiles in the world.Iris became a fashion icon because of ability to litrally blend fashion tstyles, accessories and the most outrageous jewelry from all over the world.

    • Good catch! I will tell the publicist who sent me the release for this event. Thanks for your sharp eye on this!
