Through our joint effort with the Broward Sheriff’s Office to share updates to residents, this is a summary of crimes that occurred in Tamarac through January 27.

Auto Theft

6800 block of Southgate Boulevard – Mission Lakes Apartments
On January 21, the male victim reported his BMW X6 was stolen overnight. There were no signs of forced entry, and the keys were with the owner.

5901 Madison Avenue – Arrigo Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram Sawgrass
On January 21, an employee reported a 2020 Jeep Compass stolen from the business’ inventory garage between December 20 and January 14.

7000 block of NW 65 Street – Westwood
On January 25, three unknown suspects unlawfully pulled on the door handle to a Dodge Journey with the Key fob left inside and fled the scene.

7900 block of Tuscany Drive – Tuscany Townhomes
On January 27, a Nissan Altima was stolen overnight from the resident’s driveway. The vehicle was unlocked with a second key fob in the center console. No witnesses were available, but there could be possible video surveillance from a nearby neighbor who was not home.

Battery

6000 block of Buckeye Court – Banyan Lakes
On January 21, the victim alleged her roommate, battered her during a dispute with him at the residence. The victim did not sustain any visible injuries. There were no signs of physical violence in the home. There was an ongoing history of disputes between the involved parties in the residence. Video surveillance cameras inside the house were provided for review. The victim was informed on the procedure to file the case with the Office of the State Attorney if she wants to pursue charges.

Burglary Conveyance

700 block of NW 65 Terrace – Mainlands of Tamarac Lakes
On January 21, an unknown male attempted to gain entry into a vehicle by pulling on the vehicle door handle. No entry was made, and no items were taken.

5800 block of NW 56 Place – Woodland Greens
On January 22, the victim reported a delayed attempted burglary conveyance to her Mazda CX9. No entry was made inside the vehicle, and nothing was taken. The vehicle was processed for latent prints with negative results. The area was canvased for additional video surveillance, witnesses, and vehicle burglaries.

8100 block of Silver Palm Court – The Villas at Woodmont
On January 22, the victim reported a laptop was stolen out of his unlocked vehicle. A neighbor observed three unknown suspects, but the neighbor could not identify them.

9700 block of North Grand Duke Circle – Plum Bay
On January 25, an unknown subject(s) attempted to gain entry into the victim’s vehicle overnight, breaking the front passenger door handle in the process.

9400 block of NW 74 Place – Westwood
On January 26, unknown suspects made entry into the victims’ vehicles, ransacked the interiors and stole the vehicle registrations. Both vehicles were left unlocked.

9901 NW 77 Street – Tamarac Sports Complex
On January 27, the victim stated that an unknown subject(s) entered his unlocked vehicle and stole Bluetooth headphones and his passport that was in the cup holder of the vehicle.

Burglary Residence

7600 block of Westwood Drive – South Palm Place
On January 27, an unknown suspect pulled on a sliding glass door to a vacant apartment. The suspect left the area before deputies arrived.

Driving Under the Influence

7200 block of NW 71 Ave – Mainlands
On January 26, a vehicle was located running, with an unresponsive driver inside, foot on the brake, vehicle in `Drive,` and an open bottle of wine in her lap. The driver was arrested for a DUI after refusing sobriety exercises.

Fire

2801 NW 55 Court – Event Effects Group
On January 27, a work station caught on fire at the warehouse causing damages. The sprinkler fire system was activated only in the area where the fire occurred. The fire caused damage to a desk, several televisions, tools, and keys.

Information

900 block of North Colony Circle
On January 21, the reporting party wanted to document the occurrence of possible fraudulent dog papers pending DNA testing from a dog breeder.

Lost Property

4499 West Commercial Blvd – Hampton Inn
On January 22, the reporting person advised he left his firearm in the center console of his rental vehicle, locked the vehicle, and went inside his hotel room. The next day, he returned to the vehicle, which was still locked, with no forced entry and nothing suspicious, but he alleged the firearm was not inside the center console. The reporting person advised he checked his hotel room, but the firearm was not inside either.

Theft – all other

10121 West Commercial Blvd – Subway
On January 21, the victim’s iPhone 6 plus was stolen from Subway.

Theft – Motor Vehicle, Parts

6400 block of North University Drive – Concord Village Apartments
On January 25, an unknown suspect stole rims and tires off of the victim’s car while parked overnight.

7400 block of Trent Drive – Kings Point
On January 27, the victim reported unknown suspect(s) removed all four rims and tires from his Toyota Camry between January 26 and January 27.

Theft – retail, shoplifting

3914 West Commercial Blvd – Walgreens
On January 26, police received a call of a delayed theft by two unknown suspects. The cashier called after witnessing two females walk out with bags full of merchandise.

3915 West Commercial Blvd. – CVS
On January 27, the subject entered the store and stole a styrofoam cooler, and miscellaneous make-up/lipstick worth a total of approximately $2,765.
