Through our joint effort with the Broward Sheriff’s Office to share updates to residents, this is a summary of Tamarac crimes through December 7.
Aggravated Battery
5301 N State Rd. 7 – Commercial Plaza
On December 3, a 69-year-old male was the victim of aggravated battery when three unknown male suspects battered him using their hands/feet and a stick. The suspects fled the scene on foot.
Auto Theft
5900 block of N Pine Island Road
On December 4, an unknown suspect stole the victim’s vehicle overnight.
4800 block of NW 48 Terrace – Hidden Trails
On December 5, the victim advised unknown subjects stole her black Honda Civic, parked in her driveway. This case is related to another, in which there were multiple burglary reports and most likely the same subjects for all the cases.
8200 block of NW 74 Terrace – Sunflower
On December 5, a Mercedes Sprinter van was stolen sometime before 11 a.m. There were no signs of forced entry, and the owner/victim had the key in his possession.
Battery
4400 block of Treehouse Lane – Arbor Keys
On December 2, the victim reported the male subject shoved her in the chest, picked her up to body slam her, and attempted to wrap his arms around her neck. The victim advised she found out she was pregnant earlier in the morning, and the subject was aware of it.
7400 W McNab Road
On December 3, the offender followed the 39-year-old male victim to the bus stop located east of W McNab and N University Dr and punched the victim on the right side of his face. The offender was taken to BSO Main Jail without incident.
4400 block of NW 48 Terrace – Hidden Trails
On December 5, there were multiple vehicle burglaries of unsecured vehicles. Multiple subjects were driving a light-colored Dodge Charger.
Criminal Mischief
3101 West Commercial Blvd – 7-Eleven
On December 3, two unknown male suspects threw two beer bottles at the victim’s Toyota Rav4, causing a dent to the rear door. The suspects left the scene.
Robbery
2401 W Commercial Blvd – Speedway Gas Station
On December 5, two unknown males entered the gas station store; one stole two cases of beer, and the other walked behind the checkout counter and verbally stated to the clerk, “This is a stick-up, don’t move, or you will get f-cked up.” He then stole 22 assorted cartons of cigarettes by placing them inside a bag. Both men exited the store and fled the gas station south on Prospect Road in a Silver/Grey 4-door vehicle.
Robbery by Sudden Snatching
5600 block of NW 47 Ave – entrance to Arbor Keys
On December 2, the victim reported three unknown male subjects walked up behind him. One subject removed the victim’s wallet from his rear left pants pocket. All three subjects fled the area on foot in a NE direction back into the development of Arbor Keys.
Suspicious Incident
7600 block of West Mcnab Rd/N University Dr
On December 2, the caller advised she witnessed an unknown male attempt to grab and force an unknown female into his vehicle.
Theft/Retail/Shoplifting
999 N State Rd. 7 – 7-Eleven
On December 3, a male suspect entered the 7-Eleven, grabbed three cases of beer, and then proceeded to exit the store, passing all points of sale.
5881 North University Drive – Publix
On December 5, an unknown male suspect selected items, concealed them in his pants, and then left without paying for them. The manager was able to get the items back, but the male left.

Waddraji, Veerapen (O M, 62) was arrested on charges of DUI Ubal>.15 Or Accompanied By Person <l8 years of age at 10007 Nw 81st Ct, Tamarac, on 12/03/2020.
Tolbert, Cedric D. (B M, 33) was arrested on charges of Battery-touch Or Strike, at 7400 Mcnab Rd, Tamarac, on 12/03/2020.
Leslie, Kevin Alonzo (B M, 47) was arrested on charges of Aggravated Battery Offender Knew Or Should Victim Pregnant Dv, at 4455 Treehouse Ln, Tamarac, on 12/05/2020.
Williams, Charles Damon (B M, 32) was arrested on charges of Larc-petit theft 2nd Degree 1st Offens at 3914 W Commercial Blvd, Tamarac, on 12/07/2020.
