Chabad Jewish Center of Tamarac invites residents to a glow-in-the-dark Chanukah party.
Held on Sunday, November 28, the event includes a grand 9-foot-tall menorah lighting, LED and fire show, and glow-in-the-dark crafts for the whole family.
The Tamarac Fire department is carrying out the annual chocolate gelt drop from one of their ladders. Guests will also be offered donuts and latkes, and Mayor Michelle Gomez will make a speech.
“Although Chanukah is a Jewish holiday, it really has a universal message of adding the light in place of darkness,” said Rabbi Kopel Silberberg. “We light the menorah specifically when it gets dark outside. Every single night we add more light, just like we can do in life, with acts of goodness and kindness.”
The event is one of the year’s highlights for Chabad Jewish Center of Tamarac and an opportunity to bring the whole community together. The free, however, guests may become a sponsor or donate.
The party begins at 5.30 pm at the Tamarac Recreation Center at 7501 N University Dr. Visit Chabad Jewish Center of Tamarace to RSVP.
