The food pantry ministry at South Florida Global Methodist Church in Tamarac is closed until August 31.
According to Mayor Michelle Gomez, the ministry plans to reopen in September.
“We thank the church and all the volunteers who have been serving our community with food from Feeding South Florida for their love, care, and dedication every week for the past four years. While we all desire there not to be a need to reopen in September, I look forward to the pantry reopening then,” she added.
Gomez said that while the pantry is closed, residents in need can find helpful resources through the Feeding South Florida, the City of Tamarac Social Services, the 211-Broward comprehensive helpline, and the Areawide Council on Aging of Broward County.
