Tyler Cafferty said he had a great time bowling with friends and staff members from the Huey Magoo’s Chicken Tenders restaurants he operates.
“I had a great time bowling tonight, and it’s good to see everyone having fun. The money we raised went for a good cause,” Cafferty said.
He was among a group of bowlers who took part in the Bowling 4 Schools Tournament, held by the Tamarac North Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce on June 24 at Bowlero Tamarac.
The tournament included 168 bowlers associated with 24 businesses and raised about $3,500 for the chamber’s education foundation.
“We had a good event, and we chose a bowling tournament because it was an activity that people could enjoy indoors at Bowlero,” said Peter Mason, Executive Director of the chamber.
The money raised will be distributed by the foundation to schools in Tamarac and North Lauderdale, according to Mason.
Mayor Michelle J. Gomez participated with PuroClean, a company that asked her to join their team. “This was awesome,” she said. “I had a lot of fun tonight.”
Gayle Sikora, who works for PuroClean, said she also enjoyed a night of bowling with her friends.
