The Tamarac city commission has a full agenda when they meet Wednesday to discuss pension plans, living wages, and phones for the unemployed.
On the consent agenda, they will be voting on emergency medical services transport fees, an annual wastewater pump purchase, upgrading the wastewater video van camera system, a contract with Meals on Wheels for a senior feeding program, and awarding a contract to T-Mobile to provide phones and connectivity for unemployed residents.
On the regular agenda, they will be addressing a renewal of their contract with Jeff Ellis to manage the Caporella Aquatic Center and Water’s Edge Park, which will cost $329,983.90 annually.
They will also award a bid to Superior Landscaping and Lawn Services for tree trimming services, authorizing expenditures of up to $399,634 annually.
They’ll also be authorizing an agreement with a consulting firm to design and engineer art on the University Drive Bridge Overpass for up to $75,030.
Cigna’s administrative service agreement, stop-loss insurance, dental insurance renewal, and vision insurance program implementation are the final items on the regular agenda.
Ordinances on their first reading include a police pension plan, a general pension plan, and a fire pension plan.
On the second reading are ordinances related to city holidays, creating a living wage for Tamarac employees, and banning the box pertaining to criminal history for applicants seeking employment with the city.
The meeting takes place virtually, on Wednesday, October 28, beginning at 9:30 a.m.
