Crime Update: Fraud and Robbery in Tamarac

Through our joint effort with the Broward Sheriff’s Office to share updates to residents, this is a summary of Tamarac crime and arrests through June 28, 2021.

Auto Theft

Azalea Court

On June 25, a 54-year-old male was the victim of auto theft. The victim advised that unknown subjects stole his 2018 white Honda Accord while parked in an apartment complex parking lot.

Battery

University Drive

On June 25, a 47-year-old male was the victim of Burglary, Battery, and a Violation of Parole. The incident involved an altercation over the victim’s truck. Tot. Est. Loss: $50.

Burglary Conveyance

NW 59th Street

On June 23, an 18-year-old male was the victim of Burglary Conveyance. Police responded to a burglary in progress, and an arrest was made. Tot. Est. Loss: $1,681.

Domestic Disturbance

Plymouth Place

On June 28, a woman said she wanted to make a police report that her husband had cleaned out her belongings because he wanted her to move out.

Fraud

NW 86th Terrace

On June 22, a victim told police they had purchased a black 2017 Ford Mustang for $52,500 on eBay. After keeping the vehicle garage kept for over a year and relocating, the victim attempted to register the vehicle and learned it was stolen. The victim is seeking financial retribution. Tot. Est. Loss: $52,500.

NW 73rd Street

On June 23, a 63-year old male victim told police an unknown person(s) opened a Sprint account using his personal information.

Information

Rock Island Road

On June 22, police met with a man who said he was going through a bad breakup and would like to get some help. He advised the sheriff’s office could take his gun for safekeeping.

Robbery

State Road 7

On June 24, a 45-year-old male was the victim of a strong-arm robbery. Tot. Est. Loss: $45.

Runaway

NW 74th Terrace

On June 24, police received a report of a missing juvenile runaway who left his grandmother’s residence at approximately 8 p.m., traveling in an unknown direction while she was sleeping.

Theft

NW 57th Street

On June 25, a 54-year-old male told police he was the victim of theft. He said an unknown person(s) stole his credit cards.

NW 85th Court

On June 26, a 22-year-old male was the victim of the theft of motor vehicle parts. He told police unknown suspect(s) stole 4 tires off his 2020 Toyota Corolla.

Arrests

Lockhart, Roderick Darell, 50, was arrested on charges of Trespassing-After Warning-Structure Or Conveyance on N University Dr on 06/22/2021.

Martinez, Nidenson, 25, was arrested on charges of Burgl-conveyance, Unoccupied/unarmed on NW 59th St on 06/23/2021.

Gonzalez, Christopher Andrew, 64, was arrested on Warrant/Interference W/Custody charges on W Commercial Blvd on 06/23/2021.

West, De Nesha Bre Shawn, 28, was arrested on charges of Aggrav Assault – Weapon – w/Deadly Weapon Without Intent to Kill on N. State Rd 7 on 6/23/2021.

Jones, Christen Kelly, 39, was arrested on charges of Agg Assault W/ Deadly Weapon- Domestic Viol on N University Dr on 06/24/2021.

A 53-year-old male was arrested on charges of Battery-on Person 65 or Older on NW 57th Dr on 06/25/2021.

A 42-year-old male was arrested on charges of Sex Offender Violation-Failure To Report Name Or Residence on NW 31st Ave on 06/25/2021.

A 35-year-old male was arrested on charges of Battery-Touch Or Strike on N University Dr on 06/25/2021.

Wroblewski, Daniel Paul, 32, was arrested on charges of Domestic Battery By Strangulation-Dating Relation on NW 52nd Ct on 06/26/2021.

Bruno, Jose, 33, was arrested for an outstanding warrant on N University Dr on 06/26/2021.

Gomes, Tromel Nigel, 27, was arrested on charges of Warrant-Opert W/O A Valid License on N Pine Island Rd/Holly Ct on 06/27/2021.

Castro, Samuel Arturo, 32, was arrested on Battery charges on Officer Firefighter EMT on N Sabal Palm Blvd on 06/27/2021.
