They say you need patience with a new pet, but this six-year-old boxer mix has all the promise of an easy-going family dog.
Patience has been at the Broward County Animal Care since last September. She is very friendly, follows commands eagerly, and takes treats very gently.
Patience is housebroken and walks well on a leash. She does great on her outings with the volunteers and is calm and comfortable in public places. This pup knows how to sit quietly and is an absolute joy to have around. Patience weighs 47 pounds and would be an excellent fit for a family who likes to spend their weekends active but will be perfectly content with a lazy afternoon in the park.
The Lunch Buddies program is open to all Broward residents over 18. High school students can participate with parents’ or guardians’ permission. The dogs can be taken out for a day, overnight, or a weekend. The paperwork is minimal, and the shelter provides the food, toys, and leash for the dog.

The Adoption Center at Broward County Animal Care is located at 2400 SW 42 Street, Fort Lauderdale, and is open Tuesday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Adoptions are at no cost and include spaying/neutering, vaccinations, a microchip, and a Broward County pet license tag.
