Tamarac residents will have an opportunity to receive free groceries during a drive-thru food distribution this month.
District 4 Commissioner Kicia Daniel, in partnership with Farm Share, will host a Community Food Drive on Friday, Aug. 28, beginning at 9 a.m. at Waters Edge Park, 7508 NW 61st St.
The event will provide free groceries to community members while supplies last.
The distribution will be conducted drive-thru style, allowing participants to remain in their vehicles while volunteers load groceries into their cars.
Farm Share, a nonprofit food bank founded in 1991, works to distribute food to individuals and families facing food insecurity throughout Florida.
The event is part of an effort to provide food assistance to Tamarac residents and others in need.
