Kathryn Krickstein Pressel MammoVan {Baptist Health}
Tamarac residents will have access to free and insurance-covered mammogram screenings during an upcoming visit by the Kathryn Krickstein Pressel MammoVan.
Commissioner Krystal Patterson and Boca Raton Regional Hospital are bringing the mobile screening unit to the Tamarac Community Center, 8601 W. Commercial Blvd., on Friday, Oct. 2, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Most insurance plans cover annual screening mammograms for women ages 40 and older. No-cost screenings are also available for qualified patients without insurance.
Appointments are required and may be reserved at BaptistHealth.net/MammoVan. Each patient who receives a mammogram will also receive a complimentary gift.
Patients should bring a valid photo ID, their insurance card and copies of previous mammograms if those screenings were completed at another facility. Results are expected within three business days.
The program also provides breast cancer risk assessments, heart health information and assistance coordinating follow-up care for patients whose screenings show abnormal results.
Uninsured patients seeking information about no-cost mammograms may call 561-955-2731.
