Jacquelen Beard and Andrew Dorvilus {BSO}
Deputies arrested a couple after they said they stole $50 in quarters from a Tamarac laundromat coin machine and caused about $6,000 in damage.
According to a Broward County Sheriff’s Office arrest report, deputies identified Jacquelen Beard, 35, of Lauderhill, and Andrew Dorvilus, 31, of Pompano Beach, from surveillance video at the Laundry Basket, 3803 West Commercial Boulevard, following a break-in. The business owner told deputies he reviewed the footage after being alerted to a damaged machine.
Investigators said Beard acted as a lookout, helped break into the machine, and used her purse to collect the coins. A deputy recognized Dorvilus from footage of a separate break-in at the laundromat the previous day, the affidavit states.
Deputies found the pair in an area they were known to frequent. Both ran when they saw deputies and were apprehended in North Lauderdale, according to the affidavit.
Beard was booked on burglary and petit theft charges. A separate booking record shows Dorvilus was also arrested on September 21 and lists three burglary charges and three petit theft charges.
Officers transported both Beard and Dorvilus to the Broward County Main Jail.
