Dwight Moment and Symphony performs lively Christian and Gospel music in Tamarac on Dec. 2.

Tamarac’s holiday season kicks off with a “Light the Night” event on Thursday with a tree lighting and live Gospel music.
Mayor Michelle Gomez, Marlon Bolton, Mike Gelin, Debra Placko, and Elvin Villalobos join residents to light up the Christmas tree, Menorah and Kinara — a candleholder used in Kwanzaa celebrations — while Dwight Moment and Symphony performs Christian and Gospel music.
No strangers to the South Florida Gospel Music arena, Dwight Moment and Symphony consists of vocalists carrying a unique blend of Traditional Black Gospel mixed with Urban Christian Contemporary sounds. They have also been the opening act for many renowned Gospel acts.
Fun for the whole family, the event includes food vendors and an interactive kids area, with a visit from Santa Claus and friends.
The “Light the night” event begins at 6:30 p.m Thursday, Dec. 2, at Caporella Park on 5200 Prospect Rd.
