A man was fatally shot in Tamarac, and his killer was taken into custody Tuesday, according to the Broward Sheriff’s Office.
The shooting reportedly happened at Sonny’s The CarWash Factory warehouse at 6501 Nob Hill Rd. after two employees got into an altercation and one of them shot the other, according to a city incident notification sent to Tamarac commissioners. BSO did not confirm those details.
At approximately 1:52 p.m., Broward County Regional Communications received a call reporting the shooting. BSO Tamarac district deputies and Tamarac Fire Rescue responded to the scene, where deputies located an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound, according to BSO.
Paramedics transported the victim to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead. His name was not immediately made public Tuesday, nor was his age.
Deputies quickly established a perimeter before investigators located the shooter and took him into custody, officials said. The accused shooter’s name was not immediately made public. It was not clear whether he had been criminally charged late Tuesday afternoon.
BSO Homicide Unit detectives responded to the scene and are currently investigating the killing.
