HCA Florida Woodmont Hospital in Tamarac.
New programs and improvements have been made to HCA Florida Woodmont Hospital in Tamarac.
Cory Mead, the hospital’s CEO, gave a presentation on recent developments during a Tamarac North Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce breakfast on December 4. The hospital recently opened a $12 million cardiac catheterization lab, which has seen nearly 100 patients since October. Once the lab has completed 300 diagnostic cases, it will be able to offer interventional heart care services. HCA eventually would like to have a second catheterization lab, according to Mead.
Currently, HCA is adding two new beds as part of an inpatient physical rehabilitation center expansion, scheduled for completion in January. This means HCA will increase the number of rehabilitation center beds from 25 to 27, allowing the hospital to meet growing patient needs, according to Mead.
This is all part of a more than $65 renovation project that includes infrastructure, a new operating room, a renovated intensive care unit, new dining facilities, and other campus modernizations, according to Mead.
