Honor Flight South Florida is asking the community to give a heartfelt welcome home to our nation’s heroes during Operation Homecoming, which will be held on Saturday, April 5, at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport.
The event honors veterans who served from World War II through the Vietnam War, celebrating their return from a day of honor in Washington, D.C., where they visited the memorials dedicated to their service and sacrifice.
The flight is scheduled to arrive at 8:00 p.m., but attendees are encouraged to arrive early—anytime after 7:00 p.m.—to ensure a warm reception.
The celebration will take place at Spirit Airlines, Terminal 4, Departure (Upper) Level. Guests are urged to wear red, white, and blue and prepare for a memorable evening filled with gratitude, patriotism, and cheers. The event is family-friendly, and organizers encourage everyone to “bring the kids out” to meet these American heroes.
Parking onsite is limited, so organizers suggest using Uber, carpooling, or finding a nearby lot.
Honor Flight South Florida is a nonprofit organization dedicated to honoring local veterans with free trips to the nation’s capital.
