Coming off their win in the City Championship, J.P. Taravella track and field held Senior Night on Tuesday.
The Trojans honored Nicholas Bailey, Marquise Lundy, Luis Gutierrez, Nikai McNee, Traeion Roberts, Charles Green, Jaylen Amoa, Christopher Red Jr., Jasiah Clapp, Dorian Miller, Jace Johnson, Carsen Dunham, Keon Clarke, Maxwell Delien and Marcos Noriega, Allyssia Messier, and Jade Brown.
The JPT boys team took first place competing alongside Pompano Beach, Coral Springs Charter, Hollywood Hills, and Coral Springs High School, while the girls placed third behind the Panthers and Pompano Beach.
Green, Roberts, Reid, Johnson, and McNee all won individual events for the boys, along with the 4 x 100 relay team consisting of Miller, McNee, Sebastian Merraro, and Thorevis Wesley, as well as the 4 x 400 relay team of McNee, Reid, Ezikiel Paul, and Marquis Lundy. Ja’Michael Barnes, Dominic Martinez, Miller, Delien, Reid, and two relay teams placed second.
Brown won in the 100 and 200 meters while Yamila Elliott and U’Myri Bain took first for the girls. Ajah Arscottt, Qyrah Spann-Pierre, and Danielle Tigner all finished second, along with the 4 x 100 relay with U’Myri Bain, Aleah Marriott, Caileen Canales, and Brianna Carter, and 4 x 400 relay of Yamila Elliott, Brianna Carter, Caileen Canales, and Aleah Marriott.
