Temple Beth Torah Shar’aray Tzedek in Tamarac FL.
The centuries-old Chinese tile game Mah Jongg, long embraced by the American Jewish community, is experiencing a nationwide revival — and local enthusiasts will soon have a chance to join the craze.
The Sisterhood of Temple Beth Torah Sha’aray Tzedek will host Mah Jongg Madness beginning Saturday, Nov. 9, at 9:30 a.m., with a second session scheduled for Dec. 14. The events will be held at the synagogue, located at 5700 NW 94th Ave., with entry through the rear parking lot.
The free program welcomes both newcomers and experienced players. Beginners can take advantage of complimentary lessons, while seasoned participants are encouraged to bring their own sets and cards — and share their knowledge with novices. Guests can enjoy a lively morning filled with strategy, camaraderie, bagels, and beverages.
Admission is free, but advance reservations are required. To register, email sisterhood@tbtst.org or leave a message for Caryn Dubrow at 954-721-7660.
